The Ottomans happened to my Muscovy game shortly after I formed Russia. I got into it with the Golden Horde, who I admitedly should have swooped in on much earlier. I lost a "turning point" battle and that was that. It was very sad watching the Ukraine, Denmark, and the Ottomans come in and have a field day with all the hard work I put in. One interesting thing that happened is Finland (who I had forced Novgorod to form and made my vassal, was given a province somewhere in the middle of Russia and is now their capital. The war is over and I have a mess on my hands. Maybe someday I'll come back to this as a challenge to see if I can regain what I lost. I don't think I have the skill to do that yet though. Poland took over Lithuania in my game, and got completely destroyed by rebel forces. That fractured into many countries that are constantly bickering.
Last night, I messed around with a Scottish save. I managed to gain a province from England while they were busy early. I also am in an alliance with France and Denmark. The first time the English came knocking, they destoryed my army, but then I got to watch with satifaction as France showed up and kicked the ever-loving crap out of them. Then we both went after Ireland. I got the northern 3 provences, and they got the 2 southern. Next France called me into a war they were having with Saxony, who the English were allied with. Round 2! This time, I luckily got an event that gave me a 12-unit army in the Highlands to start the war. So I decided to let the English start sieging my lands on Ireland, combined my army into one stack and completely destroyed the bulk of their army on the main island. Before I could ransack a few provinces and take care of the smaller army peace was declared. Unfortunately, being over my unit limit for the duration of the war put me into massive debt. I also didn't go the colonization route with my ideas, so I'm stuck either trying to chip away at England's northern provences or hoping I get into a war with them when France or Denmark aren't busy and we work together to drive them off the map.
