I think this is a PS3 issue more than a 360. I know 5 people with PS3 and 4 with 360. All the 360 guys have played at some point today online. All the PS3 guys cant get past the first race (Including me).

Yea I'm on PS3 aswell and each time its says "failure blah blah blah" no biggie though. I can wait a few days weeks whatever it takes to get it right.

I would've still paid $60even if they never made an online mode, so no worries here!

This has to be the worst character creation system in history. Good thing I'm white because good luck trying to create an accurate depiction of any other race. Awful.

Pretty sad to see/hear about the mess this online thing was. I'm not shocked, as I was expecting something like this tho.. But I won't stress myself out.. I was planning on playing online in a week or two... I'm still 25% in single player as I only play the missions during the weekends.. So, I'll be relaxing and waiting till the online has been fixed

But good luck to everyone out there who is trying desperately to play

For those who can't get pass the first race /introduction set up. Start off in story mode first, press start go to online closed session, and finally finish the race against Lamar.

You'll then be able to play in your own session or press start go to online tab join new session or crew.

That might work for 360, but the PS3ers error out just before the race starts (after our character auto-walks to the mission start point and the cutscene starts).

Have literally had zero issues with this so far, yet my buddy in the next room can't load it up...?

Either way, I like the whole option to choose who can access your personal car.

I have it set to friends only. I tried to help someone who was robbing a store who's getaway driver got killed. I raced in, stopped next to him, and honked, hoping he would hop in. The poor guy starts tugging at the handle continuously and seconds later gets absolutely implanted into the side of my car by a cop car.

Highlight of my day.

Yea, did they ever say what the purpose is behind it? Like whats supposed to be the advantage to this system vs. a traditional create a player?

Horrible indeed. I tried to make a light skinned black dude and the results were pitiful. Since you can't adjust features like the mouth and nose it just doesn't come out right. I'll just roll with the dude I made though if I can ever get this race to start lol.

Press start and choose either of the private games. Invite only, Crew members, or friends.

It's not like you go to Walmart and buy servers and shove them in a room and everything is grand. What they are trying to do is pretty big. I'm willing to give them some time to iron things out.

However, I think we all know why they delayed this two weeks. For this to happen at launch would be a mess for them. There is no getting around how bottle necked everything gets when they first open it up.

Don't really buy this excuse, it's not like you cant anticipate millions upon millions of people playing the game at once. If this came as a surprise ok, but to delay things 2 weeks and not have people able to connect hours after release is weak.

Kind of irritated to see a couple of people on my friends list that have been in online missions for the past several hours. I was hoping that maybe it would work for me tonight too, but it's not looking like it's gonna happen.

Yes, I was watching a live stream earlier where it was just the person streaming and their friends on the map, so it is possible. When you go to online in the pause menu it has the options invite only session, crew session, closed crew session, closed friend session, and solo session.

Is it just me or is the character creation really lacking? I heard a lot about it in previews of the game and they made it sound like it was some great improvement to character creation. I would have much preferred a traditional character creation.
