Yes, I was watching a live stream earlier where it was just the person streaming and their friends on the map, so it is possible. Is it just me or is the character creation really lacking? I heard a lot about it in previews of the game and they made it sound like it was some great improvement to character creation. I would have much preferred a traditional character creation.

I agree about the character creation, I expected much more...

Character creation is lacking badly. I started with a character that had the skin tone I liked then wrote down the Grandparents numbers as a control (Moms Mother 4, Mom Father 5, etc.). I wanted to tweak the face a bit and got totally turned around. So I figured, oh well I got the control numbers down to reset it. I reset them to those faces and they were totally different.

Its a cool idea but most of the Grandparents texture are so terrible you just have to decide how ugly you want to be.

I still can't understand why they even have a tutorial for online. It's the root of all of the issues here. Everyone that I know that has passed the tutorial has been able to hop on and off no problem. Is it really that important to have a lame race and a few simple missions? Just let us roam around with our friends!

I had some fun with it tonight, being able to complete the beginning "tutorial" missions. There really is a lot going on. From jobs to missions and then various vs matches and races, I don't quite understand it all but thought I'd share about the ATM set up.

There is a very helpful quick menu where when you hold in the back button (the button that changes view in a car) you will be given a short menu of things like inventory and a very helpful quick GPS option. This allows you to find an ATM that is closest to you, something I used right away. I don't even know if you can be robbed after being killed but I had over $5000 on hand and ran to an ATM to deposit. I got shot while entering my pin but they never took my money. After I respawned I again went to an ATM and deposited my cash.

The ATM is very simple, giving you the option to withdraw, deposit and view transaction history. You can select various increments to deposit or choose to deposit your entire cash amount on hand.

There are so many little things in this game that make me appreciate it over and over. I robbed a gas station and very ignorantly parked right next to a small caution poll, which blocked the driver side door. when I got finish with the robbery, I ran outside to get in the car with the police just showing up. I could not enter unless I went around and through the passenger side. It's just one of those things where normally you would morph into the car but the actual physics of that poll blocking the door were considered. Just a nice touch to me.

I robbed the gas station that Lamar told me to hit up and had the clerk put the money in the bag and hand me the money. As soon as I put my gun down and turned my back on him, the clerk shot and killed me.

Tried to go back in but I got a message saying Gas Stations are closed after they've been robbed.

Been trying a get the solo online to work for 2 hours so I could get through the stupid intro missions and play but it won't load the race... garbage.

Don't really buy this excuse, it's not like you cant anticipate millions upon millions of people playing the game at once. If this came as a surprise ok, but to delay things 2 weeks and not have people able to connect hours after release is weak.

If this was 2 weeks after Online has launched or even a week after then I would agree. But GTA is not the only major title that has released and has connection issues in its first few hours online.

Your 2K's and Madden's and even COD usually struggle right out of the gate online but eventually they get their stuff together.

It's easy to say that they should've prepared for this but I'd venture to say that's it's not as easy as we think.

If this was 2 weeks after Online has launched or even a week after then I would agree. But GTA is not the only major title that has released and has connection issues in its first few hours online.

Your 2K's and Madden's and even COD usually struggle right out of the gate online but eventually they get their stuff together.

It's easy to say that they should've prepared for this but I'd venture to say that's it's not as easy as we think.

5 year development cycle and cant get online right 2 weeks after release no excuse. This is why we are given games not complete year after year and bothered by release day patches

I agree with what your saying my original point was after this many major releases you'd think developers would have figured out a way to figure it out. It just seems like however many people they are expecting to be on the server, they are under estimating or not stressing the server's enough during testing. I think it would be better to err on the side of caution and have it be set up to deal with more people playing online as opposed to less.

But like you said I am sure it's a lot tougher to figure out then I am making it. I just wanna play some GTA online.

But like I said in the GTAV Thread, I would've been shocked if there weren't any issues in its opening hours, especially for a game of THIS magnitude which is why I'm not upset nor bothered. All this does is give me more time to see parts of LS that I have yet to discover.

Yeah, I created my character and got to the first race, but I never got in. Just sat there saying "Waiting for other players" for like 5 minutes before I just signed out of XBL (the only thing I could do.)

My character saved at least (I think) because I tried it again and got the same thing. My character went up to the circle and it just sat there for a few minutes waiting before I gave up and went back into single player.

Just go to the R* Social club and apply for the platoon. EG has been adding everyone there daily.
