So has there been any word when GTA Online is going to be officially up and running? Checked Rockstar's website but came up with nothing.

My guess will be when the PSN store and MS store update tomorrow. PSN store usually updates in the afternoon ET, I believe. I have no idea about the MS Store.

But I don't have any source for that, just a guess.

1 v 1 deathmatch, say another player pops you while you’re on the way to the ATM, you can choose to start a 1v1 deathmatch with that other player, which I believe they have to accept, and if they do, you will start a timed first one to 5 kills deathmatch, you will spawn relatively close to each other, say a few blocks away, and it you’re rewarded with RP (Reputation Points) if you win. I had much fun with this!

Once you’ve finished your match or job, you go into the end game lobby, and you can chose from a mixed-up selection of missions, game modes, or vote to return to free-roam. You can also vote to refresh the next game options incase you didn’t like the provided ones. You can thumbs up or dislike certain jobs too, which is part of Rockstars “We want feedback from YOU, the players, so we can keep giving you stuff that you like”. Which is really good.

Quick features round up

Crew colour(s) and Crew emblem for your vehicles in LS Customs, pretty pricey but that gives you the push to make more money.
Quick GPS to nearest ATM, Mod Shop, Ammu-nation & more.
Passive Mode, allowing you to safely get to somewhere without being killed, though you can not kill others.
Lots of Safe Houses & Garages around the map that you can purchase.
You can purchase ammo and choose your starting weapon in lobbies.
When losing a Wanted Level in Online, you will be rewarded with RP, it varies on how many Wanted Stars you had and how long the chase lasted.
There are 500 missions already from the Online launch.
You can sell vehicles in LS Customs.
LS Customs sells car insurance as well as trackers for your vehicle, so if someone steals your ride, you can see where it is on the map.
You have to buy a high-end apartment with a planning room before you can start the big heists.

So can these missions be done solo as well as with teammates? Like if I'm playing late at night on headphones, can I just play by myself so I'm not yelling into the Mic waking up the whole house? Haha

‘Passive Mode’ which makes you un-kill-able, but you can’t kill anyone else, this is made to be used for getting to ATM machines and safely depositing your money without getting killed and robbed.

Who thought of this garbage ? Way to take the fun out of it.

The problem is when you join a random free-roam room in GTA IV and re-spawn next to somebody with Auto-Aim on who kills you before you have a chance to even access your weapon or get a vehicle.

And it happens more often than it doesn't.

I hope it really is a small title update. I'm not feeling any crazy downloads on PSN for this thing.

The problem is when you join a random free-roam room in GTA IV and re-spawn next to somebody with Auto-Aim on who kills you before you have a chance to even access your weapon or get a vehicle.

And it happens more often than it doesn't.

The game world should be big enough for that not to happen with 16 players. (if properly done)

This isn't CoD with these tiny maps.

It happened all the time on RDR and GTAIV. People can be dicks online.

GTA IV wasn't exactly the size of MW2's Shipment, either.

They just re-spawned you toward the action or toward other players, so there's still a chance of that happening.

I certainly hope the won't allow people to have auto-aim on if other users are manually aiming.

It was based on the room, and if you joined a quick match you joined with whatever the host set things at. In GTA IV, Auto-Aim was one of the default presets. This wasn't the case in TBoGT. Not sure about TLaD.

Didn't bother to read through the entire thread, but I'm planning on playing solo lonewolf style in public lobbies (I'm that confident in my skill level), I hope to see some if not all of you there tomorrow. My crew (members of :me, myself, and I) MDK Ruffians. Let's get it on and poppin!
