Re: Uncharted 4: A Thiefs End
Hey there.
Just found a good link for ya:
I am amazed that Destiny runs at 30 FPS, thus I will not even give that game a look (considering a last B2G1F game... this has officially been scratched off my list).
EDIT: Currently it shows UC4 targeting 60 FPS. If they achieve that, they will have the greatest looking game of 2015 hands down.Last edited by Blzer; 12-10-2014, 08:39 AM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

So, you don't get any game that isn't 60FPS or just First Person Shooters?

Re: Uncharted 4: A Thiefs End
That's not it; I have plenty of games that are 30 FPS (GTA V included). I'll just gripe if I feel griping is necessary. Sports games, FPS games, and racers really all should be 60 FPS, and 30 FPS is a big turn-off for that. It's just a consideration among all things, and I can imagine getting a bunch of other games instead of Destiny for that reason.
In fact, it's really one of the reasons I don't have LBP 3 yet. I simply cannot believe they actually stuck to 30 FPS, and I think the reason is because of the PS3 version. They targeted 60 FPS initially, and boy that game certainly has the capability of running that.
But like I said, people will definitely be wowed by UC4 if they maintain 60 FPS. The Last of Us Remastered is a great looking game, but it's not Uncharted 4 great looking.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Uncharted 4: A Thiefs End
What was the demo running at?
My point/concern is that you miss out on some potentially great games if you mark games off your list because they aren't running at 60FPS. Far Cry 4 is beautiful and fun, but its not 60fps.

Re: Uncharted 4: A Thiefs End
I think I'm turned off from Far Cry because it's just not my genre. Not the FPS, but just the play in general.
Well, maybe the FPS as well. Honestly, the only FPS games I've owned in my life are GoldenEye, MW2, MW3, Portal 2 (if you call that one), KZ3, KZ:M, and KZ:SF. I'm not a huge FPS guy, and even when I am it needs to be a deep sell. No Legacy control schemes is the bigger killer for me IMO (except for COD).Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Uncharted:
Beautiful games, awesome story, lackluster controls and gun mechanics.
I never finished any of them on my PS3, but owned them all and the Vita game. Judging by the video, gameplay may be quite a bit better and different. I'm hoping this is the one that turns me around on the Uncharted series. I secretly enjoyed with Drake was hit upside the head because of his personality. I could never sympathize with him like I could Lara Croft. I literally cringed when she would hit a tree branch or something.. lol.Comment

Very excited for Uncharted 4 to come out. Love the series. If they would come out with a "Remastered collection" or whatever they want to call it of the first 3 I would retire my ps3.Gamertag and PSN Mrclutch1013

re: UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End
I was just about to say that I almost forgot all three Uncharted games were shadowed by Tomb Raider. That game just had better gameplay mechanics. They were the same-ish, but I think what helped was a vulnerable character, bow & arrow, usable inventory and weapons upgrades, more "open world" environment (though not exactly sandbox, but you could kind of choose what to do), and oh yeah... raiding tombs. Haha I just think that game had more to offer in the end, and I hope ND learns from that or uses more things from The Last of Us.Uncharted:

re: UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End
I know we always use the "double take" line with screenshots but this is truly a case where I thought I was looking at a real person. Unbelievable detail.
As already stated, if this game can achieve 60fps, no game will even come close to this visually in 2015.Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

re: UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End
Tomb Raider had more than two tombs to raid?
I liked the game, but it felt more like a survival game than an action-adventure game like the series was known for.

re: UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End
Well I am saddened that Tomb Raider dropped away from its original franchise roots. They were more cryptic and equally as sinister, although this one has more "grit" than the others, keeping close in tying in with Lara's emotions. In the other games, Lara is much more matured and experienced, so nothing fazes her when she is in a certain predicament, whereas in the new one she is, as you said, in survival mode all the time.
This new franchise is obviously more complete and gives off a nice Uncharted vibe, and combined with a complete story (although far-fetched), beautiful graphics, and the open world gameplay elements, I can't say that the previous games are comparable to this one. They are different games in general, though... and these days, it's about getting as close to the popular games as possible. Uncharted seems to be that route, and I don't disagree with what they are doing. I do wish they could combine both styles of play in a way, though.
I can see where you're coming from, and wish there were more puzzles (ugh with Survival Instinct) and less with gunplay/arrowplay. I remember when I was at a part where I just explored the environment around me picking up objects that I found, so I burned through two hours not seeing a single enemy and just navigating through the area and completing mini-objectives. It is when there's more of a story element, and not so much when it's just a wave of enemies.
The only problem is that it can't go down from here. They've chosen a bar and they must go up from it, because that's just how sequels work. That's what happened with Uncharted, and despite the better looking graphics, many other things went too much in the way of making people at E3 ooo and ahh instead of a more stellar gameplay experience, so I hope they can up it with UC4 like TR did. Too much of games are spoon-fed these days, and that's what Survival Instinct is all about. I like it in some instances, but don't like that it holds my hand.
Otherwise, it's a great game and I think is more than worthy of owning/re-branding the Tomb Raider name. Although... we already have this kind of game with Uncharted, but I do think Square Enix did it better with Tomb Raider.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

re: UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End
I didn't mind the bigger maps even when most of them were fairly linear and I can understand why platforming/puzzle solving tombs may not have fit in with the narrative of the reboot, but I'm hoping they can reintroduce those grand tomb, platforming puzzles that shaped the series initially. The game design is perfect for it considering how the locations were essentially boxed in and self-contained, but actual exploration was lacking to me.
I'm just hoping the next one is actually a fun ride rather one that is rather tense all the way through. Even when Lara finds her legs she's not really reveling in the action, but brutally powering her way through it. Hopefully they'll give her more finesse and hone her a bit.
Anyway, a fairly interesting take on Drake's new climbing abilities:

re: UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End
Interesting. But it looks like we could be seeing some hopping and skipping around the timeline. The Nate we saw in the very first trailer looked like 12 years older than the one in this one.
Also, is it a spoiler if I speculate that Nate's brother, voiced by friggin' Joel from The Last of Us, is probably going to be evil?Comment

re: UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End
That's too easy of a twist after UC2 (I'm just glad it wasn't the case in UC3).
