I posted this in the movie thread as well, but here is the trailer for the uncharted movie. It looks better then i expected.

So what does Digital Foundry think of the upgrade on the PS5? Here's their take.

I still don't know how people can't see the difference between 30 and 60 FPS.

Whether or not they believe it's worth the hit in fidelity is a different kind of discussion overall (especially regarding its subjectivity), but the difference is quite staggering.

Regardless, I wonder how the input response time is improved being 60 FPS. Apparently I was the only person in the world playing the game on my PS4 Pro who had input lag playing this game, at least compared to that of the previous games (especially since I had just come off of them in their own respective 60 FPS remasters), but perhaps the change to 60 or 120 FPS on PS5 will improve that overall as well.

I personally don’t really see a difference between 30 and 60 fps. It does make gaming easier for me though haha.

The difference in frame rate can mean a lot to me. I didn't like The Division 2 on PS4 because it felt clunky and unresponsive compared to some other games. I waited it out and tried again with the PS5 60 frames update and It was one of my most played games last year.

I played Spider Man Miles Morales on my PS5 and then my kids asked for some help with it on their PS4 Pro and the difference in frame rate is stark.

I've learned that it's not worth trying to tell someone else what they are seeing even if it makes no sense to me.

I can easily tell the difference, but prefer Fidelity modes over Performance every time. I like the pretty, and on a calibrated 83" OLED, it's damn near nirvana.

                  Re: UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End

Just an FYI about upgrading which begins today........

Players who purchased Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, or Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End & Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Digital Bundle have the option to pay $10/€10 to upgrade to Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Digital Version. The upgrade will be available starting at launch on January 28, 2022.

Owners of PS4 disc copies must insert them into the PS5 every time they want to download or play the PS5 digital versions. PS4 game disc owners who buy the PS5 Digital Edition disc-free console will not be able to get the PS5 version for the discounted price.

PlayStation Plus members who claimed Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End via their PlayStation Plus subscription are not eligible for the $10/€10 digital PS5 upgrade.

I last replayed this game the end of 2020. Since the Remastered bundle was on PS Plus, I just started over again. To start off, I didn't think this game needed a remaster. I feel most mid to late PS4 games still holds up well to this day, including this one. But while saying that, man this remaster looks a lot better than what I remembered from last time.

I agree with the 60fps vs 30 fps debate on noticing the difference. For me, it's hard to go back to certain games. I enjoyed the Arkham Batman games when I first played them, but can't really go back to them now. The Batman combat would feel so much more satisfying and smooth at 60fps than at 30.

I've not replayed any of the uncharted games on PS5 format. Atleast I don't think so... I've played through them so much at this point I've lost track. The FPS thing is something I'm worried about, but I'm sure eventually I'll get around to it.

Just finished Uncharted 4 for the third time. Visually the Remaster does do a great job of making it worthwhile to replay again. And the story still holds up well. Just started the Lost Legacy. It almost feels like Lost Legacy seems better visually than Uncharted 4, which is weird.

Somewhat on topic, I'm disappointed in the way how I handled my Ps4 saves. I didn't do a good job of making sure I had saved the games on a uSB. I have save files from 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019. But I used a different PS4 in the interim and I must didn't save any files from that PS4. It's weird that I had the save file for Uncharted 4, but didn't have one for Lost Legacy. I liked being able to take advantage of the bonuses and add-ons in Uncharted 4

Played through Lost Legacy again last week. I enjoyed it. I felt it looked visually better than the Uncharted 4 counterpart. I guess it was because there were a lot more wet environments in Lost Legacy. I forgot that Lost Legacy had new weapons that weren't in Uncharted 4. After playing Lost Legacy, I wish the Silenced Pistol was in Uncharted 4. It would've really came in handy in Uncharted 4 since stealth is needed more. Having a Silencer would have made the game a lot easier.

While I enjoyed the remastered Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy, I'm not sure it was really necessary remastering those games. The original versions still hold up very well. Unless it was very early in generation, I don't think PS4 games really need a remaster. I wouldn't say it was a cash grab, but could have done something else. They could have done a Uncharted 1 remake or even do a remaster of the remastered Nathan Drake Collection. I don't mind this whole Remaster/Remake phase of gaming, but I rather see games from the PS3/360 era that aren't really accessible nowadays get remastered.

Absolutely, it's a strange omission and it makes 0 sense that a master thief like Drake wouldn't use a freakin silencer... I see it as added proof that combat isn't the focus of these games. I feel like they litter the screen with enemies only to provide another distraction from the parkour elements and mainly for pacing purposes

I didn't even notice the Silencer the first time I played Lost Legacy. The Silencer should've been in Uncharted 4. Heck, Uncharted 4 didn't even have a Silenced Rifle if I'm correct. Lost Legacy could did without the Silencer. There's not even enough Stealth-required gameplay in Lost Legacy, especially compared to Uncharted 4. Uncharted 4 has enough Stealth Required gameplay where having a Silencer would have been useful. Most of the times, i just went guns blazing because the CQC isn't good and quick enough to go the stealth route in Uncharted 4
