The pics look great but does Drake still do the video game run/walk or does he animate in a lifelike manner? Still shots don't mean a thing.

Shots have to be aimed right. I used to one shot everybody in Uncharted 2.

This isn't a complaint, more of an observation, but I find Sully's new model unrecognizable. I can appreciate they added more detail, but it's going to take a while to get used to.

I completely disagree with this. TR had maps that let you explore areas. Uncharted really keeps you contained in one spot and as soon as you cross an invisible barrier a wall crumbles down and blocks you off and you can't go back. Too many times the overly scripted nature of the series made me feel like I was being pushed and prodded like cattle through a sequence rather than let me breathe. UC1 was more open but the game became increasingly linear and restrictive as the series went along.

Now TLOU was similarly restrictive but I felt I had more choices. Stealth vs. gunplay and upgrades along with healing packs (no self regeneration) added a lot more strategy and choice that made up for it. I hope UC4 allows a little more exploration and offers more strategy elements imo.

I think it's mostly in the eyes and hairline, but really every feature is fairly different.

Uncharted 4 Lead Designer Confirms 30 FPS For Single Player, 60 FPS For MP

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End was originally revealed as a 60 fps release. However, the game seems to have dropped the 60 fps target for its single layer campaign and instead will target 60 fps for the multiplayer.

This news was confirmed by Kurt Margenau, who was talking about the game on GameSpot’s LiveCast for Day 2 of E3.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will be released on the PS4 in Spring 2016.

I'm sure that will matter to some people, but I couldn't care less. The game is shaping up to be another smash and I know I'll have a blast playing it.

                            Ay, that matters to me.

Saddens me that we were kind of misled into being told every game would be 1080p/60 FPS on PS4, and yet that's not even close to the case anymore.

I'll have a blast playing it too, of course. That doesn't mean I'm not disappointed. The Last of Us was spectacular in 60 FPS.

Can someone show me sources for all of this 1080p/60fps pre-release hype? I just remember a single indie dev vaguely saying Sony was pushing for it.

Every game could be 1080p/60fps. There's nothing stopping developers from achieving this, but it all goes back to tradeoffs and the goals developers have for their games. These machines aren't some infinite well of power, especially with their low-powered notebook architecture derived CPUs.

In the case of Uncharted, you have a very cinematic action series, one that's known for its visual prowess and cinematic flair, and a studio that has had a long history of pushing Playstation hardware to the limits. I think the tradeoff in frame rate to push other aspects like visual fidelity and level complexity in single player, is absolutely the right call.

The gameplay of this series has been pretty uninspired for the longest time now, living off its brilliant set pieces and tropey action thriller moments/characters. Hopefully their work on TLoU influences this one and they build more dynamic gameplay mechanics.
