Re: UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End
Launch or digital makes no difference. PS4 games fully install off the disc, and run completely off the hard drive. It only uses the disc for the .exe check to launch the game, then stops spinning moments after a game boots up.
I have a launch unit that is quieter with this game as well (compared to pre-cleaning it), and only heavier with the fan with the menus since the framerate is uncapped in them...
Trust me on this, it would have been louder (and it was) if I did not clean the dust off the fan, (which I did the Sunday before the game came out). Follow this fun guide, it is VERY simple to do, does not take more than 20 minutes, and your PS4 will thank you for it, by being quieter and cooler running.
How To Clean Your PS4 Fan (ft. Batman)
No matter how clean your house is, the PS4 sucks in a lot of dust and it gets around the fan, in turn making it louder and run hotter over time. My launch was not as dirty as the pics in the guide, however it still was pretty dusty. I blew out the fan and everything came flying right out of the back vents. I also took a few of the screws out lifted the power supply and blew that out clean as well. Wiped down the remaining caked dust, pulled out a dust ball, and easily put it back together. Took no more than 20 minutes.
The result, it is MUCH quieter now, and runs cooler. I barely hear it with this game (like I would have before the cleaning), and DOOM makes it spin full bore, yet it does not have that higher pitch whine anymore, rather softer sound like it was at launch.
(Only do this if you are out of warranty, since the warranty stickers get taken off.)Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End
Problem with that is, you are just blowing the dust more into the unit and compacting it more. I was doing that, then I just took the 4 screws out, popped the plate off and saw a ball of that fine dust electronics collect all bunched up in a corner of the fan unit.
I dust the electronics every day before use since I have hardwood floors, and still blow air lightly on the outside... but once every 6 months I am doing this method for sure as I do my PC anyhow. It literally is no different than opening the case of your PC and cleaning it out, only less intensive due to the smaller design.
I just do not recommend it if it is still in warranty, in case a manufacturer failure happens. After warranty though, open it up and clean. You will not damage anything. It is just a case plate, and everything else is still bolted down and secured.Last edited by EnigmaNemesis; 05-15-2016, 11:21 AM.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Got to chapter 3, game is just beautiful so far. After playing that one MP game I've made the decision to finish the SP player first then get into MP. The story so far has my locked in I don't want to stop playing. It would cool to see the all the cutsences together like one movie.Moderator

That is why, out of warranty, you are fine, because they are going to charge you $150 regardless. However the disc ejection is simple, there is a auto eject screw to the next to the drive. It tends to get lose through vibration on the launch units and static discharge of the touch sensitive buttons. Ever since tightening it in the proper direction (clockwise), and using 'eject disc' in menu, I have not had an auto-eject beep or issue in over 6 months, when before it was once a week when it got to it's worst state.
How To Repair Fix PS4 Auto / Unexpected Disc Eject - Playstation
This is the main culprit more often than not.
As for the sticker removal, if something happened, and it was not caused by you, and you wanted to just spend $150 (or less depending on the cause) to have Sony fix it, they will determine if you caused it when the stickers are removed. A little FYI, they can refuse to fix it out of warranty with the stickers in place as well if determined you caused it, i.e., spilling water in it, damaging an internal physically, etc..
Either way, cool running, quieter, already out of warranty, just like my PC.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Loving the game though previous ones, things would go wrong more often and they would find a way through. Seems this one a lot goes right for Nate.

Re: UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End
Finally, after days of this game staring me in the face, I got to fire it up and check it out. I'm only up to Chapter 6, but I'm impressed so far. The graphics are top notch, with the facial expressions and mannerisms standing out. Everything feels smoother and more responsive for movement (cover mechanics are still a bit clunky compared to other games, but still the best in this series). The climbing/traversing has really improved as well and I feel more in control of my actions than ever before.
My only minor gripe is I felt like the camera swung too much in a couple of early melee fights making it hard to see. It might be intentional (simulate the effect of the chaos), but it was pretty disorienting. I know there's a camera follow option, but I'm waiting to get a bit further and see if I get used to it at default before trying that out.
Overall, not a whole lot of BIG changes to the Uncharted formula (up to where I am, at least), but a ton of refinement and the changes/additions that were added work very well. Oh, and I played this with my Golds and the new UC4 profile on...awesome!
Also, a minor spoiler (not really related to the current story):
SpoilerI had waaay too much fun goofing around in Nate's attic and shooting the toy gun at EVERYTHING. That whole scene was a nice, quick little nostalgia trip. Crash Bandicoot was fun as well, mainly for Nate and Elena's running commentary.Comment

Command is the best multiplayer I've played in console in a long time. A lot of randoms don't seem to understand the captain mechanic though."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End
It's an interesting mechanic. It's almost the definition of playing for the team. I find that when I get captain I usually end up being the lowest scorer on the winning team. I tend to hide back behind the team and never go in the capture circle to minimize my exposure and only take shots at guys when the are engaged with my teammates.
It takes a ton of discipline to not jump out after kills or objective points and I would guess 80%+ of the gaming population does not and probably will not have that discipline to go into an automatic support role and use the boosted buying power to just support your team while staying alive and preserving the points. Not dying as captain is infinity worth more than any kill you could get unless you go one for one with a fully leveled captain as a fresh captain. Otherwise its just better to stay alive.
The offensive side of this is the tougher one on deciding if you have the players to go seek and destroy the enemy captain or if you should just stick together and cap territories and let them come to you and kill them when the opportunity arises. The other night when we were playing and really got rolling we seemed to fluidly shift between those tactics rather than just rely on objectives.Comment
