re: UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End
The cash cow that Uncharted is, I am not worried at all.
They will figure something out. It may be later than we expected, but I believe there will be plenty on my plate until then.
With The Last of Us and Destiny on the horizon my mornings will be filled with carnage.Comment

re: UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End
THE LAST OF US' DIRECTORS ARE OFFICIALLY HEADING UP UNCHARTED 4
When Amy Hennig - the creator and writer of the Uncharted series - left Sony-owned developer Naughty Dog, the future of the franchise was left in question. Who would take control of the newly-announced Uncharted game for PlayStation 4? Now, thanks to an interview in Game Informer, we have an answer.
When asked by Game Informer if Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley - the game industry veterans who rose to prominence with The Last of Us - would help the project in transition, Naughty Dog Co-President Evan Wells stated that, “It's not so much of a transition period, actually. We've asked them to lead the project.”
Under Naughty Dog's loose two-team structure, Druckmann and Straley worked on Uncharted 2: Among Thieves before moving on to The Last of Us, while another team - headed up by Hennig and recently departed director Justin Richmond -- toiled away on Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. So both men have plenty of experience with the Uncharted series.
Hennig and Richmond aren't the only high profile departures to happen in the last few months at Naughty Dog. The studio also lost its long-time lead character artist. Naughty Dog also opted to recast the villain in Uncharted 4. Hennig has since landed at Visceral Games and will be penning an upcoming Star Wars game. Sony told IGN that Hennig's departure - as well as others - is all part of the course of business.
PlayStation 4's Uncharted game - which hasn't officially been christened Uncharted 4 as of yet - is a likely candidate to be shown at Sony's E3 press conference, which is one week from today. Hopefully, we'll have more information on it soon.Xbox LIVE GT: oALEXtheGREATo

If this means that Uncharted will become more dark and sinister, then I am all for it.Comment

re: UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End
I don't want Uncharted to get dark and sinister. I like the feel of the game. What I loved about the Last of Us was the upgrade tree, having to conserve ammo, a much more realistic health system where you didn't just regenerate health and most importantly different ways to attack situations. In a very linear game the path gets repetitive but TLOU was great in how you could use different tactics. Uncharted became too stiff and stale and the story was weak in 3.Comment

I am just happy that the game is in good hands.Comment

No matter what feel they choose to go for, Drake and Sully better be in it. There isn't an Uncharted without them.I don't want Uncharted to get dark and sinister. I like the feel of the game. Actors quit?Originally posted by BehindshadowsHow is that possible when the actors quit...
First I heard of that.
Amy Hennig quit, or was let go, or forced out. Whatever the case, she is gone. Lol
EDIT: The guy who was supposed to play the bad guy quit.Last edited by LingeringRegime; 06-03-2014, 12:01 PM.Comment

Who left?Originally posted by BehindshadowsHow is that possible when the actors quit...
All I had heard about was the guy who voiced the teaser wasn't working on the game anymore.

re: UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End
Todd Stashwick is his name...
Developer Naughty Dog has "recast" the character in the new Uncharted game for the PlayStation 4 played by Todd Stashwick, according to the actor.
Without providing any reasoning behind the move, Stashwick told IGN, "They chose to recast my role." Stashwick was previously described as playing a "significant" character in the game and was responsible for the voiceover work in the teaser trailer above.
Uncharted creative director Amy Hennig, who had been writing the new, as-of-yet untitled Uncharted game, left the developer earlier this year. She joined Electronic Arts shortly thereafter to work on Visceral Games' new Star Wars project. Stashwick recently announced he would be co-writing the game with Hennig, a move that raised some questions about whether his involvement with the new Uncharted would be affected.
Stashwick had been working on the new Uncharted since at least November, when he shared several photos online of the work in progress, including one of him in a motion-capture suit.
Whether Stashwick's work with Visceral played any role in this move or if more than just a change in actor is planned for his former character is currently unknown. GameSpot has contacted Sony for comment.
Very little about the new Uncharted game, including its title, has been announced. In addition to Hennig, the new game also lost game director Justin Richmond in March when he left for League of Legends developer Riot Games. While still not offering up any window for when to expect Uncharted to land on PS4, Sony did address Richmond's departure by stating, "The development timeline of Uncharted will not be impacted."Comment

Says who?Originally posted by BehindshadowsYeah but Nolan North isn't in Uncharted 4...again he's not doing the voice..he's not working with them.
It's not in dispute that Stashwick was recast, he just wasn't Nathan Drake.Originally posted by BehindshadowsI remember IGN and Gamespot doing a video saying a lot more of them left.
