    Re: Splinter Cell Pandora Impressions

I'm looking for some good impressions as well.

I'm on the fence of getting either this or Fight Night, I can only afford one of them. *regrets buying Wrestlemania*
    Blind to this impending fate
We let the world carry our weight
It's back breaks with every mile
But we all live in denial

          Re: Splinter Cell Pandora Impressions

After a few games of ASB ( which i am actually enjoying quite a bit ) I popped in PT. I just plyed for a good 20 minutes or so in the first training mission. The story looks to be phenomenal. Graphics are slightly improved, and everything just feels right. Sam is the man. Haven't tried multiplayer yet. Hopefully get on that tomorrow

yeah i know; this isnt much of a good impression, but suffice to say that if you liked the first one, you will LOVE this one. If you never tried it, pick it up. Even if you dont like the single player, many are saying the multiplayer could be its own standalone game.

                Re: Splinter Cell Pandora Impressions

I've only tried the multiplayer training missions, but they seem cool. As a merc, it's a typical FPS like Rainbow 6 ... as a spy,. it's 3rd person. Seems very rich and nuanced. Could be one hell of an online game.

Single player seems like the same old - but in a good way. Slightly better controls, slightly better graphics, slightly better enemy AI ....

                      Re: Splinter Cell Pandora Impressions

I posted this on another site.

The online mode is cool, really cool To play a ranked game, you have to have 2 merc's and 2 spies. The spies have some cool stuff! The spy bullet is awesome, you shoot it, land on a merc, and you can listen to their conversations by pressing the white button. If you are a merc, it's very "Rainbow Six-ish". Except, you have some cool stuff too, like a motion dector, everything is red and glowing, unless something moves, then it zooms right up on it. Right out of the movies. Already seen trash talking with a snapped neck or being choked to death, by pressing the white button as a spy. I will tell you this, if you are playing 2 merc's and they half way know what they are doing, you will have a next to impossible time beating the level. But as we figure this game out more, I'm sure we'll get the spies down, right now they just seem way underpowered. But as we played on last night we kept figuring out new things. Like the spies have a spy alarm thing, and you shoot it, it sets off alarms that the merc's set up. So the merc's go there, but you're already gone. Also, if you nail a merc with a spydart, he'll show up on your map as a red dot, so you know where he's at.

Another cool thing the merc's have is a grenade that drops green smoke everywhere, well if it gets on a spy, he'll glow in the dark and leave green foot prints everywhere. This game thought of everything! Very frustrating, but bad *** none the less. The levels are huge!! The vertigo level has you starting out on top of a 100 story buidling on the outside and working your way in. There's a movie theater, hospitial, lab, etc and so on.

The whole premise is that the spies have to get into the board, find 3-5 points (they are marked on the map), and depending on what game type you are playing (neutrilzation, sabatoge, or extraction) you have to turn off the "bomb", set the bomb to blow up on the merc's, or get so many bombs and get them out.. in that order of game type.

Overall, the game is amazing, one of the most beautiful games I've played, unfortunatly it's not in HD, but it does appear in widescreen, I'll have to play around with it more to make sure things are proper sizes, I was just basically playing last night. But even not in HD, it looks better than EVERY other XBox game out there right now, which is flat out stunning.

If there's more you want to know, just ask. I put in about 3 hours online with this bad boy last night as you can tell.
