Can you remember this happening before, as far as a game this anticipated being released wirh no footage/details/impressions of the PC version available at all pre-launch?

I'm trying not to let some of the conspiracy theories I'm reading online (like those saying the game is intentionally gimped on PC because of Sony) get in my head. Guess we will find out soon enough

Many really bad ports are like that, generally lost in the glare of the console release, NMS lost that when they delayed PC. Though I've seen some remark that the game controls feel a little bit like it was meant for a keyboard and mouse at times, but not really sure what that means exactly.

If they were extra proud of the horsepower a PC port allows, you'd think they'd be all over that, showing off their baby.

I'm preordered on Steam, will drop by the house to give it a spin at lunch. At worst I'll get a little under 2 hours to try it and submit for a refund.

        Re: No Man's Sky

I have been on 6 different planets through 2 different systems so far tonight and zero of them have had life, literally nothing. However, all of the gold and emeril that I am carrying certainly makes up for it.

At least there was a nice view, and by nice I mean very, very depressing:

I love this game so far. It's far from perfect, but the exploration itself and the variety of the planets is just awesome.

I'm really hoping to find a lot of barren planets. Nice pic man

Another little tidbit on the barren planets that I found is that it wasn't like they were extreme conditions or anything. Out of all of that time spent there may have been one storm total. The rest of my time spent on pretty much all of the planets was under calm and slightly hot conditions during the day and cooler during the night. I wish I would've taken a few more pictures while I was there now that I think of it.

My one big complaint off of the top of my head would be that I wish we had a way to navigate through systems easier than just looking at the galactic map and having the entire universe thrown in our face. For example, I wish we could go into our discoveries and then set a waypoint back to those specifically on the map. I am getting way to into each, individual planet just to never visit them again .

Yeah I've seen a few people say they would like the game to have a better waypoint/map interface. I def could see HG patching this in

I'm already a little anxious about my next planet and I haven't even gotten there yet. Left my starter after getting 100% yesterday and stopped to save at a Space Station.

                  Re: No Man's Sky

Been playing since Tuesday and havin an absolute blast.

                  2 quick questions:

                  1. I discovered my 2nd planet and it had 2 huge mountains of gold. I completely farmed both and went to the nearest outpost to sell it. When going back out, both gold mountains were completely restored. Is that a bug/glitch or is the game designed that way? I thought gold was kind of rare early in the game but now I theoretaically could make infinite units just walking between the gold and the outpost...

                  2. When I leave my starting systemn, can I just go back along the "to the center line" on the map or does it only show forward progress and you can't backtrack it? Because I definitley want to 100% my starting planet and not being able to find it again would kind of suck

                  Tjanks in advance

                    Re: No Man's Sky

Unless they patch this I have already made a house rule (crappy I know) about mining exploits.

Once I do everything I can on a planet (discover, mine etc) I move on. I am not going to constantly go back to the planet to load up on credits. Otherwise what's the point. I want to explore new planets as there are millions upon millions in the game!!!

I am really enjoying the game, but I don't want to just level up my ship that easily. I want a new ship and the one's I want are coming in around 1.8MM credits. On my 4th system right now on the Atlas path and have earned 1.1MM credits. Learning which races value what more is also cool. I have travelled back to my first system and third system to take advantage of market prices for certain elements etc.

I can't find my 2nd system though.....annoying. Going backwards has been very difficult with the map.

@BCruise - I had to use free form and just pick systems blind until I found my path back to my original home planet which really feels like home too. Crazy. I love that planet. I have just one creature left to make it 100%......but I could not find it after playing over an hour on that planet last night.....moved on.

Found my third Alien race last night. Got into many many dog fights with Pirates, game is getting more intense as I forge ahead on the Atlas path right now. I am one system away from the last waypoint on the Atlas path and will be playing all day today.

Last way point on the atlas path already? Would I be correct in assuming that is the center of the galaxy... End game?

I'm also enjoying the game. Been a while since I last played a game that can make me forget time like NMS.

Quick question: Anyone know if 2 players have met accidently on NMS yet? It's really hard to comprehend the size of this game...

The game is definitely made for mouse and keyboard first.

The way you move around the menu screen on PS4 is with a pointer. It's a bit jarring at first since I essentially never play anything on my laptop, but I got used to it.
