Re: No Man's Sky
Here's where I'm lost. I only have one option on the "path to galactic core" setting - forward. I can see the lines indicating the different routes that can be taken other than that golden line, but it won't let me move along those paths when I try to move the right stick towards them. I have to be in free mode to do that.
When I get home later tonight and get on the console I will see what I am doing and let you know. Now Playing on PS5:

Re: No Man's Sky
I agree on the races thing. I would assume there would have to be more, especially considering that I have barely scratched the surface as far as systems out there. Also speaking of systems and the number of them, has anyone been in another galaxy other than the Euclid Galaxy?Bulls|Bears|Cubs| Blackhawks|Huskies|Horned Frogs|

Re: No Man's Sky
Will exploring get boring at all? I've read some impressions and people are wondering long term play value with the gameplay loops (a lot of just gathering the same materials to survive, etc)....After a while couldn't each planet just be another planet? I know they're unique and all, but if you do exactly the same stuff it's not really unique in what you do.
Watching some videos and seems fun....just not sure if I'm seeing the type of addictive things to do that grab people for hours upon hours like some other games....but I'm not playing so hard for me to tell for sure :-)
I've played about 15 hours so far over the first 4 days. I'm hooked as the resource gathering has been fun for me thus far.Comment

Re: No Man's Sky
This is the case with every resource gathering game I've played. Eventually it probably will get boring. That's why I'm expecting that they'll continue to add new features/modes/etc. like with GTA.

Re: No Man's Sky
Just found out something that'll make my planet exploring life SO much easier (and it's not explained anywhere)
Just like you can scan flora and fauna, you can also scan a structure to mark it with a dot on your HUD. It doesn't specifically tell you what kind of structure it is like when you activate a beacon or something, or how far away from it you are. But sometimes just knowing the appoximate location of a place you've visited before can help you get your bearings a lot easier.
Just...don't scan every single place you visit or it'll lose it's purpose - there will be so many dots you won't be able to tell them apart.Comment

Re: No Man's Sky
My home planet has gold that isn't gold-colored. I took a screenshot I'll upload tonight.
Anyone else see that? I'm guessing my atmosphere has something to do with it."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: No Man's Sky
Gold is shiny and reflects, so atmosphere would make it look like a different color. Looks red to me on one planet and green on anotherComment

Re: No Man's Sky
You will normally see the different color when the light from it's star starts to go away (dusk to night)Comment

Re: No Man's Sky
I love this game and I am hooked already with about 15 hours in. I hope they keep up with the post launch support and that will dictate just how much I will enjoy this game going forward.Comment
