Space stations. Just go up to any of the other ship owners and sometimes you can talk about buying their ships.

Re-correct myself, you can farm and relog

After mining gold and saving, you can login and mine the same nodes again. You just need to clear all the gold from that node, no leaving a little chuck floating in the sky.

I feel like this is one of the most honest, and fair, takes I have heard yet. Especially regarding the hype machine and expectations going in. He says the game is the best at what it does in certain aspects but still won't appeal to everybody, essentially.

You're joking right! This is the most biased Sony Pony on YouTube and he's admitted it numerous times. He even gets paid under the table.

He says negative stuff only to overshadow it so great you should still buy crap. He's a b.s. commentator, who's figured out how to do impressions and reviews in favor of everything Sony exclusively releases.

I saw a ship for sale at a space station. How do you inspect how much cargo it'll hold? I'm probably missing something obvious but I didn't see it.

In the space station docking bay, when a ship lands talk to the ship (or the pilot, whatever) and there will be an option to negotiate for the ship, that will show you the cost, number of inventory slots, and installed modules. If you hit the button with the price, it gives you a side by side comparison with your ship. If you decide you want it, transfer all your cargo to the new ship and buy it.

Definitely buggy, I've had it crash a few times before the game ever gets started (when the star flight loading screen fades) and it crashed once while I was playing.

I don't think the save system is too bad, it saves every time you exit the ship or do one of the landmark beacon things. It also keeps your two previous saves (it's in the options to load one of the prior two saves).

experiencing my first storm, the planets weather is dead wastes and the temp with the storm is almost 150 C which is about 300 F but the upside is there are mounds of gold and vortex cubes. edit: ok so this planet is bipolar...went from 149 C to - 93 C in seconds

You can manual save at stations, my starter planet has a bunch of them and I save at each one just in case something happens on my next move. It looks as though it saves when you exit your ship as well, so I have just gotten in and out of my ship at times just to save.

Sean Murray's response to whether or not people can meet each other is exactly like being caught in a lie and in the middle of the admission pointing to the sky, screaming "what's that?!" and running away.

Edit. To be fair, since I'm reading it again, he's being super vague and it appears that he's trying to say that the ability to see another player is dependent on online code that isn't working right now.

He's blaming it on overloaded network activity.

Edit2 this probably goes back to my previous comment about finding another player.

I love the game. I really do, it's so fun to explore and upgrade and check out different planets and learn language and so on. I've only killed 1 creature and been to about 7 planets and 2 space stations.

One thing I would like to know is it keeps saying I have unclaimed units in the options menu, but I don't see anything. The menus are different and I don't mind them, but there is zero explanation for certain things.

Regarding finding other players, based on the information available since it's initial announcement - this has not been the focus, everyone should have expected a single player game going in. If you didn't know that going in and are disappointed, you have created that disappointment for yourself. 1) it's not even remotely the direction/core concept of the game and 2) even if it's functioning and working well the odds were so remote that it's silly to be disappointed, it's like being upset you didn't win the 1/10000000 chance in the lottery.

Crazy hearing about how much money some people have made already in this game. I found some gold on my starter planet, but the most money I've had at any point in time was around 120,000u. Then again, I've spent a decent amount already on suit upgrades, a new weapon, etc.

I flew back to my starter planet this morning...there's one animal left out there for me to find and I'm determined.

Speaking of which, I noticed that it says, for example, "Upload and receive 175,000 units" on one part of the screen; is this something that happens if you identify all forms of life on the planet, including the different rocks and stuff?

In terms of my impressions, I'm really enjoying it so far. I guess we'll have to see how I'm feeling in a week or two, but for now, I'm enjoying scanning all the forms of life I come across, finding knowledge rocks, etc. I think I've learned about 15 words of one alien language so far, which is pretty cool and very helpful when it comes time to make decisions.

You can also buy ships at outposts on the planets you visit; you'll often see other ships land on the little runway that's outside the buildings.
