I'll confirm next time I play. May be awhile. Been playing other games and Madden is coming. I'm pretty sure they're were many more planets yet discovered, and I discovered 5. I've actually gone back to my first planet. I call it "Tanier". It has the music most desirable on the soundtrack too....LOL. The terrain is lush fields and desert. The creatures are docile, the mining excellent, and the atmosphere tolerable. There doesn't seem a way to access our inter stellar map while on the planet which sucks.

        Re: No Man's Sky

Had a very productive 2 hours. I upgraded my suit, my multi-tool belt, and my ship. But first, I need to correct myself regarding the Mollusk solar system I discovered. It has 6 class planets. I thought I read it as "planets discovered." I've already discovered 5, so I (see pic 1) went looking for the last planet and landed before calling it for the day. (pic 2) This planet is barren.

I'm going to go back to all 6 planets. Especially, the one I left immediately. Tanier is considered my home planet. Everything is peaceful about it. However, I know someday I'm going to leave it, for a far lights year travel to the "center of the universe". I also timed the night/day transformation on Tanier around 22 minutes. Another thing about the planet Tanier is when I left to the other side of the planet there wasn't any life. Only a small portion of the planet has life booming.

A pic of my new ship. The Azawachir S50. She has 3 more slots and the same technology. Wow, what a difference in handling between the 2 ships! Much more quieter and takes off and lands so much better. She cost me a pretty penny. I'm going to call her "Bella"

Didn't know ships had different handling.

I've noticed it, but it seems tied to the pulse jet upgrades and not the outward appearance.

Not so sure about that. I haven't upgraded any technology that's different from my original base with the exception of the ship. And I definitely see an improvement in the way the ship travels from my last RS ship.

You don't always have to add it, ships and multi-tools just come w/ a handful of upgrades installed usually.

Managed to fight off a freighter attack (I think it was about 12 ships) for the first time without dying. Fortunately they didn't all break off and attack me at once - I think 3 was the most that engaged at one time. For only having 16 slots, my ship is pretty well-equipped. Can't carry very much, though - fortunately I have a huge exosuit inventory.

                    Re: No Man's Sky

Fully upgraded the ships are beastly, it makes me smile when pirates scan me because my ship can kill them all before they get a shot off.

Also the cannons are more deadly when fully upgraded by quite a bit, but you have to be careful around ally ships/space stations as over spray will aggro them. They kill faster, don't overheat because stuff dies so quick, and use no ammo so you don't have to recharge.

Early on the beams make the cannons look like a toy, and that reverses once you start getting the fire rate increases.

Edit: Also, a lesson I learned earlier today. Messing around on a planet, collecting albumen pearls I think it was, it aggros the sentinels up to the little panther and it gets stuck so I just keep collecting and it starts the next level so I noped out to my ship. I was done so I figured I'd just leave the planet, once in space I get attacked by sentinel ships. They aren't much so I figured I'd just fight them off to remove my wanted level. Mistake. Once they were dead it started the full level 5 sentinel ships. You don't want to go full sentinel level in space. So, if you have a sentinel wanted level on a planet, get rid of it before you go to orbit.

Any PC players try any of the mods yet? Interested in some of the graphical ones, like removing the 'instagram filter' from the game, and removing the artificial glow that's around every object.

No, it's possible. I've scanned two different bird species without killing either.

Wow, just realized you've identified 10 solar systems. Just wondering, how close to the center are you?

I liked my first planet a lot, the second not so much. It also had jumping mushroom animals and some jumping cactus like animals. It was just a weird planet altogether. I didn't like it for some reason. It had water, but was just kind of boring. The third planet I landed on was dry, had no animals, but I did detect intelligent life on it that ended up taking me to a spot that had 2-3 trading posts clumped together with a ton of landing pads so there was a lot of traffic in the skies around that area. Even though it lacks life I still just enjoy flying around that planet because it's pleasing to look at to me. It reminds me a bit of some photos I've seen of Mars at times.

When you're in space and call your map for what's been discovered, your solar system is highlighted with number of class planets just underneath. You can see it in the pic I sent earlier as a guide.

Yeah, my first system has 2 planets, and the second planet is a little toxic, but not too bad, and has two moons. Crazy giant flying Sting-Ray/Lamprey hybrids. Non-agro, but NOPE!
