I didn't even realize there were floors for second stories. To fill those gaps I just built a roof and wondered why I had to put a roof on each floor. Oops.

In other news, work is seriously getting in the way of me advancing through this game. Only level 13, just cleared the Sunshine co-op area. Still have not been to Diamond City, not even close really.

LOL I got busted while stealing something, and OMG did the townsfolk turn on me! I must have had 10-12 of them just showering me with bullets. It was impossible to get to safety before dying. And the beauty of it was after I respawned it would drop me right back in the middle of that s#%t storm every time, haha! Thank God for instant saves, I was able to go back just a few minutes before said offense, lol

It's really not that bad once you know what parts to use. I built a 3 story house that extends over the ocean in like an hour and a half the other night. My problem now is I have 4 huge settlements and other small ones I use for cash crops. I funnel the extra people over to my big ones until they are full. It's a lot to maintain but it's really fun. This is coming from someone who hated it at first too. Now I look at settlement building as something that will make this game last so much longer for me.

I was thinking of taking one settlement and just making it a scavenging sweat shop to see exactly what they produce. I just have one right now so I don't really notice what it does too much.

When building, how much of a difference is there in the best shops and the second best shops? Is it like a really huge gap? Trying to decide if I want to use the perk to open that up or not.

The max shops are much better imo. More supplies and with 4 of them at one settlement I'm pulling in around 300 caps a day. They also seem to have around 600 caps available bartering wise.

I had a settler killed (was actually an Abernathy as well) the first time one of my settlements was attacked because I didn't rush to help. Now I want to get attacked because the loot from raids is fantastic (got a new power armor suit and two legendary weapons from an attack on the castle last night) but my defense is so high at most of my settlements raiders wont bother. Was very shocked at the firepower the group brought to the castle last night though.

How do you get the suit when someone attacks you? I have a hard time getting a shot at the core. Unless I sneak up on them. Only way I have gotten a suit during a battle was I got lucky and the guy hopped out. I usually kill them and can only grab the armor parts.

This was the first time I have ever been able to hit the core. They attacked the castle through a gate and I was up on the wall. The dude in the armor ran in and was shooting a settler near the radio and it was an easy shot.

Nice. I spent a couple hours just building last night. Settlements got raided a few times while I was building. Ghouls attacked the castle, super mutants and a death claw attacked the drive in and raiders attack the gas station. Not sure why I got hit hard last night but it was fun.

If they had made the building tools usable, made settlements worth a damn, made them not require perks for 90% of their worth, maybe I could be bothered. For something that requires me to throw hours of frustration trying to get something created, what I get in return is trash.
Maybe its just that the UW mindset has been overly drilled into me. LMAO I like making a sweet combat outpost and having capabilities such as this one:

How do you know if a target is in range of one of your artilleries? I haven't even used mine since the initial quest for fear that I would waste a smoke grenade on an out-of-range target
