Should recognize it when you buy it under your gamertag. You can always go and press start on the FO4 icon on the Xb1, click "manage game" and it will usually list all addons you have for the game there as well.

Compass - "Be sure to keep your eyes peeled, as enemies will no longer appear on your compass. As well, the distance at which locations of interest will appear has been significantly shortened.

Adrenaline - "Survival automatically grants the Adrenaline perk, which provides a bonus to your damage output. Unlike other perks, the only way to increase your rank of the Adrenaline perk is by getting kills (hostile or otherwise).

"The higher your Adrenaline rank, the higher the damage bonus. Sleeping for more than an hour, however, will cause your Adrenaline rank to lower. You can check your current Adrenaline rank at any time in the Perks section on the Stat tab in your Pip-Boy.

Wellness - "You'll find it difficult to survive without taking proper care of yourself. You must stay hydrated, fed, and rested to remain combat-ready. Going for extended periods of time without food, water, or sleep will begin to adversely affect your health, hurting your SPECIAL stats, adding to your Fatigue, lowering your immunity, and eventually even dealing physical damage to you.

Fatigue - "Fatigue works like radiation but affects your Action Points (AP) rather than your Hit Points (HP). The more Fatigue you've built up, the less AP you'll have for other actions. The amount of Fatigue you've accumulated is displayed in red on your AP bar.

Sickness - "A compromised immune system and a few questionable decisions can end up getting you killed. Eating uncooked meat, drinking unpurified water, taking damage from disease-ridden sources, such as ghouls and bugs, or using harmful Chems all put your body at increased risk for various ill effects. When you are afflicted with an illness, a message will appear onscreen.

Antibiotics - Antibiotics, which can be crafted at Chem Stations or purchased from doctors, heal the various effects of sickness.

Bed Types - The type of bed you're sleeping in determines the length of time you are able to stay asleep. A sleeping bag will save your game and may help save your life when you're desperate, but it will never allow for a full night's rest and the benefits that come with it.

Crippled Limbs - "Crippled limbs will no longer auto-heal after combat and will remain crippled until healed by a Stimpak.

Carry Weight - "Exceeding your carry weight reduces your Endurance and Agility stats and periodically damages your legs and health. Think of your back!

Companions - "Companions will no longer automatically get back up if downed during combat and will return home if abandoned without being healed.

Enemy and Loot Repopulation - "Locations you've cleared will now repopulate enemies and loot at a significantly slower rate.

....and so why wasn't this part of the base game??? That's how I wanted to play all along and I don't want to start over, too much time invested to do that. [emoji19]

I don't think you have to start over. There hasn't been an official post about it but I thought read that you can switch in and our of survival mode. Which makes me believe you can use your current save with the new survival patch.

I just picked this up today. Any tips for a newbie that has never played this series except for a few hours of Fallout 1 (2, or 3, I cant remember) on Xbox?

When you level up you can spend the point to obtain or upgrade perks that are under the primary stats. A lot of people mistakenly just put points into the stats.

Yea Mabster is right. The points you get for leveling up can be used for stats and perks. Also really read the little pieces of information under each S.P.E.C.I.A.L. attribute. As that will be how your character is molded for a majority of the game and especially in the beginning.

What would be the best perk to upgrade that would make my player the strongest combat wise, or does it all just depends on how I want to play?

It depends on how you want to play. Do you want to go Melee, big guns (fat man, mini-gun, etc.), rifles, handguns, laser rifles, sneak, etc.

Im thinking rifles and handguns, with a lesser focus on the big guns

I am playing the same as you. Have used big guns a little bit. I would get gun nut pretty early. It used to mod your guns give them more power, accuracy, less recoil, etc. So I would definitely get that done sooner rather than later. And there are some perks that will help you with VATS, get those if you are going to use that. Also get McCready as a companion earlier rather than later, especially if you are going to use VATS. As his companion perk gives you a permanent 20% chance to headshot a guy. Also get rifleman...

Also here's the full list of perks and what level/special stat you need for each. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_4_perks

The sooner you find a decent Sniper Rifle, the better time you will have early on in the game.

Gun Nut was one of the first perks I unlocked and I picked up a rifle off an enemy early on....

Power Armor; once i first enter it, is it added to my inventory or do I have to take it with me everywhere I go?

You can either take it or place it in a unit that looks like this (part in the back).

You kinda have to walk forward so your fully in it and then hold x or a (depending on your system.) There should be a pop up in the top corner that says hold _____ to exit power armor.
