    The Amazing Spider-Man 2

    Synopsis
As you look down over the bustling, lively city of Manhattan, your mind whirs with the commotion of flashing lights and loudly blaring noises — your spidey senses begin to tingle. Crime lurks in every darkened alley and shadows threaten to overtake the light. In one deft move, you leap confidently from your spot perched atop a skyscraper and begin a dazzling sequence of acrobatic maneuvers, web-slinging your way across a city that you have deemed your personally protected playground. In this exciting story placed alongside the events of the second film, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 lets you continue the adventures of Peter Parker as you search relentlessly for the person — or creature — who murdered your Uncle Ben.

Put on the suit and slip on the mask of everyone's favorite neighborhood Spider-Man in this all-new adventure. Investigate and overpower a creative cast of all-star convicts and stop crime dead in its tracks. Explore the streets and skyline of New York City as you use your expansive web-slinging mechanics to glide over the cityscape on trusty strands of web. Perform a series of signature acrobatic combat moves to bring your enemies to their knees and keep evil at bay. Receive rewards for fighting crime or face the punishments if you fail to do so with the new Hero or Menace system. Take advantage of your expanded web-shooting capabilities to take down foes and unleash powerful chemical properties to freeze and blow up items on impact. Step out of the limelight and return to Spider-Man's citizen alter ego, Peter Parker, in order to hunt down the motivations of Manhattan's maniacal masterminds. Are you ready for an action-packed, adrenaline-pumping adventure with everyone's favorite web slinger?

Beenox has received a lot of angst from Spiderman fans, but personally I love 99% of what they have done with the license and can't wait to get more. Amazing Spiderman, to me, was the best Spiderman game ever made, so I'm personally really looking forward to this game, especially on the new generation of hardware!

Amazing Spider-Man was good, but still didn't stack up to the Batman games. Will keep an eye on this one though since there's no superhero games on the XB1 (except lego).

Since taking over as stewards of the Spider-Man console gaming franchise, we’ve seized the opportunity to explore new territory with each game release. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 on PS3 and PS4 created a great opportunity to build and improve on something rather than starting from a blank slate. The gameplay walkthrough we’ve prepared for you today shows off some of the ways we’ve gone about doing that, but I’d also like to briefly flesh out some of those details with a little more context.

            The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Spider-Man 2 last gen was a lot of fun...it was certainly better than watching the movie...

The video of this game looks fantastic...I usually ignore movie games but the video has me intrigued

              Re: The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Spider-Man 2 is still the pinnacle of Spider-Man games (with the PS1 games behind it). Everything else has been average at best, and to be honest I'm pretty disappointed with how this one looks. I was hoping they were really going to show out for next-gen but it looks like there's more waiting to be done for that.

I just want a Spider-Man game on the level of the Batman Arkham games, or at least close to it.

My son loves Spider-Man and we have all of the games. The only one which is really any good is Amazing Spider-Man; although I do like Spider-Man Friend or Foe for the characters you can play as.

This game looks fun too, but the stealth seems way too easy; like it was in the first one. The Batman games at least alert the enemies to your presence when you do takedowns. I would like to see that changed about this Spider-Man game.

Couldn't disagree more. There have been some solid Spiderman games released that were fun to play in and of themselves, coupled with some throw away crap mostly targeted to young kids (who if you watch them play it, think it's the best thing ever created). Sure they weren't triple A games, but unless they invest some serious $$$ into the game development, it'll be unlikely for that to ever happen. Personally loved Beenox's first take on Spiderman, including the new mechanics they introduced and looking forward to what they throw at us this time around too.

Seriously. Just? Beyond Batman has there ever been a Triple AAA title released for a comic book hero? I'm hard pressed to think of one.
