Question about Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow

I am really wanting to get a non sports XBL game. I have read alot about PT and everything so far sounds good.

I never played the first Splinter Cell, but liked the Metal Gear series.

Question is Is this game worth a buy? If so, am I so far behind in the gamer progression that I will get wiped within the first minute each match? How is the learning curve?

Re: Question about Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow

I personally think that the SC series is better than metal gear. To me, Metal gear is less game and more theatrical release. You get to do so much more in SC then in any of the metal gear games. I also like syphon filter a bit more. Maybe i am just nuts, but i really hate games that force me to watch a long cut scene every 10 minutes instead of just letting me play.

The first splinter cell rocks. And Pandora tomorrow is that much better, especially, ESPECIALLY online

The game is a bit difficult though, Sometimes almost to the point of frustrating, but you get that sense of accomplishment after beating a particularly hard part.

SC has some great moves and smooth gameplay but it's not that fun. It's a 'load 'n' learn' game. MGS is a different game yes, but much more enjoyable for me.

Metal Gear has a better story if that's what you're into, it's also more pick up and play friendly. Splinter Cell's gameplay is much deeper, and it's a much harder game, but without the interesting story I think you're also more likely to give up before you're done with the game if you get bored or frustrated. At least that's what happened to me, I'm about a level away from beating the first one and just haven't gotten around to it yet.

I was the same way, once you get past the first level or so it's not quite as frustrating....still can be at times, but getting into the pace and stealth of the game can be tough at first.

Online's the same way, I'm having a blast, but there is a bit of a learning curve, just play with people willing to show you the ropes at first and you'll be fine after a couple nights
