I've learned my lesson. There are game demos. And then there are early "demos for reviewers" which have a little extra. So you get reviews like that. So come game time they remove it. Happens all the time.

      Re: Batman: Arkham Knight

I just started playing this for probably the second time through. I've played through Asylum and City multiple times, but never went back to this. Finished up AC apart from the New Game +, but just want something bigger to glide around. And more baddies to pummel. I forgot how much the batmobile feels like driving in Burnout.

Game looks fantastic on PC. So damn clean and polished. Those neon signs really pop and that damn taunt cape looks amazing when you're gliding. Coming from AC's more comic book cartoon aesthetic to a more, gritty and "realistic" style helps to set this game apart from the 3 previous. Combat already feels a bit more weighted which is weird to notice right off the bat (no pun intended).

        Re: Batman: Arkham Knight

This game is beautiful. Arkham City has aged really well thanks to their more comic/cartoon leaning art-style, but the fidelity and vivid imagery in Arkham Knight is fantastic. Even in a dreary *** setting where it's gloomy and raining its tempting to just stop and stare.

Thankfully, gliding over map and looking around satisfies that itch. Pausing for photo mode reveals small details easily missed out on like the fabric of the cape or the rain drops splashing off it. To answer the recent question about building interiors on the map - you will be amazed at much you simply DO NOT CARE about entering any building, much less walking around on the ground. Traversing the maps in this series has been fantastic since AC. Hearing the cape flap and flutter. Its the small things that really push this series over the top for me.

I'm enjoying all the additions and wrinkles to the existing combo and freeflow system. The FEAR chain takedown is very effective and so far very rewarding. I can see how it could be abused and eventually lead to boring gameplay segments, but its a nice way to clear out remaining predator areas or just clear out groups of goons in general.

On the flipside the Batmobile will forever have me on the fence. I understand the "need" to have it included in a game and the missed opportunity if they wouldn't have put it in. Generally its OK to cruise around, but I feel there's a disconnect between the power of the Batmobile and how its presented. The engine sounds flat and dull which is weird considering how bombastic the rest of the audio is for the game. Its obviously a tank because it ****ing handles like one when cornering and the fact that it is demolishing large parts of Gotham (and its citizens) when it goes down a street. This aspect reminds me of Burnout all the time. Then again the launch into glide is so fun and I never get tired of summoning the Batmobile in a dive bomb to glide safely into the cockpit.

Luckily, I haven't had to do too many combat scenarios with the tank yet. I'm thinking that will be the first things I update so I can just muscle and power my way through those missions.

The menus feel super clunky to me - especially when trying to navigate all of the AR Challenges/Missions. AC wasn't exactly the best, but it all felt centralized. I'm still getting accustomed to not using LB for detective mode, but I almost always call the Batmobile when attempting to scan for different things.

Overall I think I was very hard on this game when it came out initially, but I'm trying to keep a more receptive approach this time around and have been enjoying it a lot.

This was me as well. When I decided to give it another chance after it had been out a while, the only thing that I upgraded was the batmobile weapons. That helped actually make the Batmobile feel legit bad *** in battle and fun to use. The mandatory use of it with some objectives still ****s up the flow of the game but it's not nearly as annoying to use.

            Spot on gentlemen!!

That one "level" where your using it in the elevator [emoji1787]...[emoji854].... I remember going through that and thinking. "Who's idea was this?!!" So many other way to use it. I loved the batmobile right up to that point in the game. But overall 100 percent agree with you guys. I popped it in the other day after my last post. This game definitely has a special place in my heart. I also loved the plot.

              Re: Batman: Arkham Knight

I agree. I didn't care for the overdependence and repetitive use of the batmobile. But this game is up there for me. I never try to 100% complete a game. But this is the only game I nearly 100% completed and it was on my 2nd or third go around. Only part I didn't complete was the Riddler challenges.

If they were to release a Arkham Bundle enhanced for next gen, i would be interested.

I did all the Riddler tracks. I just had no desire to go back to get trophies

I don't know who thought it was a good idea to focus game primarily around the batmobile. Besides that, still one of my favorites behind Arkham City

I honestly did not mind the focus it received, but the game overall would have been better served if the gameplay was balanced a little bit more. Operating on the assumption that all of the tanks are unmanned feels a little oversimplified - especially when Bats is literally running people over on the regular.

Totally forgot about the Riddler tracks, but not the tracks themselves. I'm still a little peeved that the only way to incorporate some of the DLC Batmobiles were strictly on those tracks. Unless they've changed it since the last time I played 5 years ago.

And now I have changed my mind lol. Just did the escort Gordon mission and a couple after that. Strafing and firing. Strafing and firing. Driving and vehicular combat is little fun. This **** is going to be the first things I clear out.

Since this game is going to be apart of the PS Plus collection for PS5, I might give it another go around. I wonder if it will get any further next gen enhancements or if it will play native on PS5

I think that was one of the latter Riddler missions. I didn't care for that sections especially with the shifting platforms you had to avoid. If they would have balanced out gameplay with more combat and a little less Batmobile focused missions, it would have been in a better experience.
