Re: Assasins Creed Unity
Reports of the frame rate problems convinced me not to buy this game until a severe price cut.

Re: Assasins Creed Unity
You forgot today is Veteran's Day, no mail is delivered today, Federal Holiday.Anyone order through Best Buy for delivery before? I ordered this and they assure me it will be delivered tomorrow but it still doesn't show as having been shipped as of yet which makes me a little worried. Do they typically take forever to update so it's feasible that it had indeed shipped and just hasn't updated perhaps? I went this route just to avoid going to the store tomorrow but is making me a little concerned that it won't be a smooth and easy transaction as I had hoped it would be.
EDIT - Sorry for posting here, had no idea where else to post this. I called Best Buy and they assured me it shipped and would arrive tomorrow but the lack of info on their website worries me a bit.Comment

Re: Assasins Creed Unity
So the news of this having terrible frame rate issues kind of has me regretting purchasing it digitally. Stupid impulse.Comment

Re: Assasins Creed Unity
Let me get this straight, Ubi "optimized" Unity at 900p to lock in a consistent 30 frames per second. Yet, day one, the most obvious glaring problem with them game is low frame rate.
OK. Makes sense. Glad I didn't buy.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

Re: Assasins Creed Unity
Outside of nice graphics and 1000 NPCs on screen, seems like this game is the exact same as previous ACs. I knew them taking the pirate ships out was a bad idea!Comment

Re: Assasins Creed Unity
Picked up Unity (PS4) last night at midnight at Best Buy. Installed the game, redeemed the pre-order code and downloaded and installed the day one patch.
Played two memories. Unity is easily the best looking game on current gen period. I'm not the type to notice frame rate drops or resolution problems but I did notice some pop-in with NPC's while running in the opening memory.
My main problems are as follows -
1) I had to lower the X and Y axis sensitivity to 2/10 because the camera seems to be zooming around too fast and that was bugging me.
2) The controls aren't as tight and defined as they should be.
3) I'm not liking the new parkour system in regards to the free running/jumping. I dislike having to press the X button to climb up. Honestly, would have preferred it if it stayed the way it was using the analog to climb up/down/left/right while holding down the R2 button.
4) Absolutely hate "the last known position" crap they added into the game. I didn't like it in Splinter Cell Conviction/Blacklist and like it even less in Unity but after the first two memories, I can see why they put in the game as it's used for certain objectives.
5) Two memories and I had to "follow" a few different characters already. Forgot the exact number and while I don't mind "following" characters as they're talking to advance the story as opposed to a cinematic/FMV/CG cut scene, it seems like we'll be doing this a lot in Unity. Really hoping the mission structure is better than last gen.
6) Minor problem, I don't like the square mini-map. They should have left it as a circle.
On a related side note, there were these treasure chests that I couldn't open as it said I needed a companion. Does this mean I need to play co-op to open up a treasure chest?
P.S. - I know a lot of people are happy about it but im hating the trend of implementing co-op and multi-player into the single player storyline. Wasn't my thing on PS3 when online was free, sure as hell isn't now at $50. UGH.Comment

Re: Assasins Creed Unity
Polygon's review was just posted and confirms there are major technical problems. I really wanted to pick it up, but will now hold off and see if a patch can fix everything. Here's the review: http://www.polygon.com/2014/11/11/71...box-one-PS4-PCComment

Re: Assasins Creed Unity
The technical issues seem to be on Xbox One as PS4 doesn't appear to have the frame rate issues.
With or without the patch, Unity seems to run better on PS4. It's funny, the game was "evened out" on both PS4 and Xbox One yet it's still better on PS4. LOL.
I have also noticed that the reviews are from the Xbox One version of the game which is why the game is getting lower than expected scores.Comment
