No need to apologize here. It was merely a debate which is completely healthy.

I am reading some very mixed reviews. Some love it , others hate it. I'm seeing more negative then positive so far. My Daughter has it, this will be a good chance to check out share play on the PS4 so I can try the game myself. That is if it's allowed.

        Re: Assasins Creed Unity

It has an 80 on Metacritic after 11 reviews. The review embargo wasn't up until noon yesterday (normally a red flag) and as of right now I can see that the Joystiq (2 1/2 out of 5) and the Polygon (6.5 out of 10) are both not showing. Matter of fact, the only major game review site that is on there is IGN, and it have it a 7.8 out of 10.

Morale of the story: Read the content of reviews and not the Metacritic score. The game is getting destroyed based on technical issues. I normally NEVER let a review sway my decision to purchase, but I canceled my preorder until they can prove to me they can fix it.

And for what it's worth: 332 user reviews on Metacritic average out to a 5.2 out of 10. Again, not a valid way of saying "This game sucks", but the content mentions a lot of the same issues.

I'm actually abandoning the AC ship all together, the overarching story lines is just stupid. It was fine in the first couple AC games but it's clear that there are no plans to actually end the game/story so it's just constant heel dragging

Enjoyed my hour or so of playing last night but the controls are definitely clunky. I noticed last night my square button to draw my weapon was a little non-responsive. Sometimes I just like to spend time pissing off guards and getting in fights and there was one fight where I dodged and he put his weapon away mid-fight. As I mashed square to draw the weapon my man stood there taking axes to the face.

I had to press square so many times to draw my weapon, it was frustrating. I like how you can quickly parkour down in the game but overall the controls are not good.

Sounds like ubisoft could have used another week or so of dev time. They probably didn't want to go head to head with gta though.

For what it's worth, my co-worker friend bought it digital on XB1 and stayed up late last night playing it. He seems to love it and did not mention the framerate issues. I hope UBI can patch this up, because I like what my friend told me about the improvements to the gameplay.

Same here. I would suggest they utilize this engine for what its best for, a friggin new tenchu. This engine has "ninja" and "samurai" written ALL over it. I know I can't be the only one who notices this. One open world ninja game to rule them all can be made off of this game engine, no debates.

I played a little bit last night and I didn't notice any major issues. I even ran through a few populated areas. Like everyone else said the controls are different and take some practice. The game seems like it could be fun.

                          Re: Assasins Creed Unity

Reviews, reviews. I've never let Metacritic user reviews or site reviews sway my opinion on whether to get a game or not. If I did there would be a good handful of games I'd never have played that I really enjoyed.

From the people I know personally that played it a bunch yesterday, and watching a buddy of mine play Unity late last night on Twitch, I don't get the hate. None of them have echoed the complaints here on frame rate. Controls I'm not sure of as I haven't played myself and none of them mentioned it but I never asked.

Either way, I'm not giving up on AC. It's a quality series that still has a ton of room to grow even though it's on it's what, 6 or 7th title? Ubisoft has always been one of my fav. developers and I won't be giving up on them now.

I don't get why they're so damn adamant about not doing that. It doesn't even need to be in this series, but a legitimate open world ninja game would be incredible.

I'm pretty sure they have mentioned an AC title going to asia at some point. Could be wrong tho. It makes sense though to eventually have a game in Japan at some point.
