Re: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
For me, this game is to Destiny, as NFL Blitz is to Madden.
I have been so sick and fed up with the past few CoD games and their twitchy, jerky, arcade'ish feel. But I'm really liking AW for what it is. A change of pace, get in get out fast action fun. And a breath of fresh air.
It's cool that you can get on like an arcade game and play for 15-20 min and get a couple of matches in, but it feels nothing like the cod4,waw,blops games where there is action, then it slows down but builds suspense and all feels very deliberate and I would feel the desire to play all damn day and think about it at work or whatever.
This is non-stop action, with strange maps that are largely forgettable and feel cramped.
I actually remember maps in detail from cod4, waw and blops (even mw2 which I wasn't a huge fan of) As an aside, I don't feel that the game has great 'graphics' either - but what I'm referring to is probably an art/design thing rather than textures and polygon counts.
anyway for me this is a 6/10 for the time being. I get it, I see why people are loving it, but it just lacks that satisfaction of cod's past for meLiquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

I feel like this one is the most 'arcade' it's ever been, which is fine, but it's not for me. The future skin, exo, weapons, but especially maps and super fast pace are turning me off.

Re: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
Add me too, guys. I'll run some "OS" clan action with y'all. I'll play anything, but I prefer/love to run "Hardcore" modes, mainly "Kill Confirmed". I'll be on quite a bit from now through Tuesday, since I have a four-day weekend coming up plus the wife working late.

Re: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
This game adds a new level of skill requirement. That's what I like. The time to kill in this series has been getting faster. The jumping adds something to counter the "whoever shoots first wins" argument. You can dodge out of the way. In previous games you could only try to run away or get on the ground. This game gives you a whole different skill to try and improve on.Comment

Re: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
At any point in just about every map, there is literally 8 different directions where someone can shoot you. 80% of my deaths are from people just luckily rounding a corner and there I am looking in one of the 8 directions for enemies thus I'm an easy kill. I guess that's just how the game is.Comment

There are areas that are bad, but no way is it the entire map. You need to find areas that work. And for areas that don't work, get out of there.Comment

Lastly, don't get map tunnel vision either. There are abilities to counter all these strengths. So while utilizing these things also get to learn frequent map routes. Every online shooter will have "hot zones" which is where most the combat goes down.Comment

Re: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
lmao so i get in a lobby where basically the team is killing me with that RW1 pistol one shot cheese. So i equip the next game to try to give them a taste of their own medicine and i kept getting hitmarker after hitmarker... smh i got owned!
Clan Wars start November 15th (9 days away). I would like to get some sessions in with some members before then so we can get some sort of chemistry and strategy going!Last edited by DreDay2K; 11-06-2014, 02:43 PM.Comment

Re: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
For the clan, is it all together (PS4/Xbone) or do we have a separate one for each console? Sorry if that is a stupid question.Comment
