Re: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare

After having no problems for the first few days, I have been one-barring in every game for the past couple days. I really like the game and want to play it, but they have to fix this first.

I've never seen this in this game. In my opinion you CAN'T camp, it's constant movement which makes the game lack tactics - the maps are small and there aren't any places to scope out multiple routes. In CoD4, Blops and WAW you could find spots to scope out big distances and have cover walls around you looking out windows etc.

This game you don't have those long sight lines but at the same time interiors are wide open, so the few sight lines I have are mitigated since all of your blind spots are open and you have no protection.

The best strategy in this game is to sprint hugging walls and just twitch shoot people that appear in front of you and to me it's just missing that cod balance of shoot, stop, camping, run n gun, sneak. I don't see anyone 'sneak' around haha.

I'll probably actually check out the sp, and if it's fun I'll beat it and trade in the game. I hope we get another COD soon that's either present day or past - to me this game has its moments of fun but overall it's a bust. I just lacks the right feel and rhythm

Spots like the one's you're talking about are one of the most annoying things in COD multiplayer. They become overpowered and then overused. I'm glad they're not in AW. There are plenty of spots on every map where you can somewhat hide for a few seconds if you're damaged or just need a breather, but overpowered spots with cover and long sight lines only irritate players going for the objective

Yeah thats true but at least it's more fair. COD just feels unfair, like you have no chance.

They are never overused, going back to cod4. People do use them and people will camp from time to time, but I never saw teams just camping in one area, the change of pass causes suspense and tactics to consider.

I'm glad they made a game like this for all the people loving the chicken with the heads cut off action, it's just not for me and not very cod-ish in the original sense having different players with different strategies and setups stalking each other. This reminds me of paintball. I would rather play cod4 right now over AW and it would even look better in my opinion.

everything about this game was better imo - ... everything

a lot of it is the maps though. They were so intricate - changes in elevation, multiple 'routes' underground routes, window openings, 2nd floors, roofs, multiple structures that make intuitive sense etc. Multiple viable strategies too as a result of the maps/weapons, you could p90 smg like the video and rack it up, or snipe from nice spots with cover or go medium with assault rifles and flash bang the buildings. After all these years it's still better in virtually every single department including art. It doesn't even matter if the new cod is 1080p because it's surfaces are pretty plain for the most part

They should just remake CoD 4 with HD graphics and some added maps...

Can you still play COD4 online on console? Watching that footage made me realise that one of the BF4 maps is a kind of rip off of Pipeline.

                    This.

I like this game, there's obviously some issues, like every game when it's released. But I think I get more angry with some of the people who play it and not the game itself. I enjoy playing momentum, but sometimes get put into a game where people just camp around the objective instead of trying to capture it...

They should follow in Halo's footsteps and make a COD collection. Something like that would sell like crazy.

Huh ? That's always what CoD has been about. Maybe it's a lot worse now, but I'm not about to find out.

I had the same exact comment to my brother a week ago while talking about COD and the MCC coming out tomorrow.

                          I'd love that game.

yeah, I re-bought cod4 about 6 months ago for about $4 and people were still playing.

The major issue with old Cod's is that people some how figured out how to hack the crap out of them so I noticed about 40% of the matches people were flying or doing crazy stuff.

I would play a re-release for this generation, even if the only thing they did was bump the resolution from 720 to 1080

I was just reading about KZ shadow fall which I didn't play, I might trade in the show and grab that to tide me over until a shooter I want comes out.

I even check the ps+ streaming service for old cod's but they are not there
