Im getting better at this game. Nothing amazing yet, but I can have 4-5 kill matches, and not die at all. Really enjoying Fuse and Kapkan. They have great guns as well.

It's crazy that it costs 22k renown to unlock the remaining season 1 characters. I thought I misread when I saw that. Just winning 5 matches may get me 1000. Am I missing anything or do they basically want to make it so tedious that I break down and purchase everything (I won't)?

Yeah, those are the operators that were released after the game had already been out. It wasn't so bad if you had the game early on because theoretically speaking, you'd have all the other operators unlocked and then would have two operators released that you have to pay that much for every 3 months. So by playing a lot and saving, you'd end up with enough renown to buy the new operators as they come out. It would take a long time if you don't buy the legacy pack at this point though.

Found a certain urge to buy a play this game. I don't know why but is it to old to get into?

Found a Year 2 edition for $40 new

If you are asking if the community is dying, then no, it's actually continuously grown and is much bigger than it was at launch. I haven't played the game much since the new season started, but the game is very much alive. If you're really into more tactical shooters it may be a good purchase for you. It isn't a full on sim, but it is much more slow paced than a game like CoD or BF. If you're one the fence, I'd give yourself another week or so and see if the urge to buy it passes. They usually have free weekends somewhat regularly so you could always try and no hold out until one of those and then get a taste for the game and see if you'd like it.

I still play this game almost every day. As canes said, the community has grown if anything. This is one of my all-time favorite shooters.

Watch every killcam. Seriously. You will be so lost on every map when you begin playing and a good way to learn angles is to just observe where you got shot from and remember that spot. You'll eventually know where to look when going around corners and also knowing where to hide based off of that same knowledge.

Realize how noisy your character is. I feel like the majority of my kills anymore are because I heard an enemy and located them with my ears.

Just realize that this game will be rougher at the start than most games. You might go 1-15 your first 4 games combined because it can be so overwhelming. Maybe try and stick with your team and allow yourself proper spacing so that you can at least let hem guide you and if they get shot at you won't be so close you die instantly too. You may be able to finish some guys off and get a better overall feel for each gun and approach.

Any idea of of some of the operators I should unlock first? For some reason with the season pass I was under the impression more were unlocked

Haven't got a real chance to play. I was able to load it up and beat some of the situations but that was it

Certain operators are not as useful in hostage mode, like Jager and Fuze. In the beginning, I'd stick to operators that have good usefulness no matter which mode it is, like Thermite or Rook.

Any PC players in here? Looking for OS'ers to squad up with here and there. I'm normally a plus player recently, I have my rounds where I can go 7-1 and rounds where I can be 0-3, but am generally in the positive K-D ratio. PM me.

Traded this game in 5 months ago and miss it, but the server issues killed it for me. Have they sorted it out? I'm tempted to either get the base game for $24 or the Complete Edition for $60, both on sale on PSN now. Which one is the best value in your opinion?

The server issues aren't sorted out per server, but they are definitely improved. I think the community is larger, and the matchmaking has improved. Most nights, joining a game is very quick... Still a few lingering issues, but I'm thankful they fixed my push sprint going prone and chatting issue at the start of the round.

I'm still a little peeved I bought this for full price, but if say go for the complete edition. You'll have a wider array of operators to choose from, which will make the game more fun.

I'm still not great but in getting better. My main problem is I still don't the maps worth a flip....

When you start the game does is automatically give you two operators? I have Jackel and Mira by default then I bought Rook

I've been playing for awhile and I still struggle with remembering the map layouts here and there haha.

And you must have bought a copy that came with the Season 2 pass. Mira and Jackal are Season 2 operators so you had them unlocked automatically. Youll get two new ones in a few weeks (assuming no delay in their rollout). But no, if you just had a regular copy, you'd start with zero operators and have to play the situations to earn money to unlock some (or just play as a recruit online).
