    Re: Rainbow Six Siege

I played all night last night, match making was perfect and hit detection seemed to be MUCH better. I had zero complaints last night.

    Edit: This was on PC

Anyone having issues connecting with people across the country for some strange reason? I'm in Portland, OR and can't connect with people in Atlanta. Never had an issue with other games.

Maybe it's region locked or something?

I truly believe this is the source of most people's problems when it comes to matchmaking. I played until about 3am EST last night and the last hour was not good when it came to getting into games and having them work right.

Took forever to get into some games and then when I did, on two occasions, I couldn't pick my Operator (hate that glitch) until the second round. The player base must be pretty depleted at that time so I think I get put into games with guys on the west coast (where it's only midnight) and on my end of things it all goes to hell.

We'll see after the second patch. Typically in the past, with games like COD, the best time to play was late if you wanted stable games and matchmaking when there wasn't such a load on the game. Not so much with this game.

I ran into a great group with a friend the other night and we played until early the next morning. The problem is that I was getting randomly disconnected during rounds. It happened to me about 4 times and to another guy in our group 2 more. I really hope they get these issues squared away because I really love this game.

Yes I am. I'm trying to connect to a guy in Portland, and I'm in Atlanta - so weird.

Is it not letting you guys connect at all or do you get into a squad and get kicked out within seconds? If it is the latter, then me and the guys I play with have had that issue as well and we're in Tennessee, Alabama, and Missouri.

It won't even let Dub into the squad. Everyone gets in perfect literally all the time. In fact we have played this religiously since it dropped, and count on one hand the amount of issues we have had as a group - other than getting Dub into the squad consistently.

We have had other people invite him, had him set up the squad, all with the same results. He can't(most of the time)join us, we can't join him. All nats are set open also, so no idea what the issue is.

That's strange. I haven't ran into that fortunately. We do have issues where the squad drops seconds after forming over and over despite us all having open NATs and perfectly fine connections. Ubi's servers must just be having issues all around from the different problems so many are experiencing.

I love this game. Me and a buddy loved the beta so we got the game last night. We talked it up so much that a third friend also bought it last night. So we were playing with 3 and I actually share played this with a fourth buddy we wanted to get the game. So he played for like 3 hours last night and picked it up today. We will be playing the hell out of this and are trying to get a 5 man crew to run with. Well after about 2 hours myself with it leveled up to 5 and have 4 operators unlocked. So I am loving this game and to comment on the connection issues that sucks for you guys suffering from them. I have had know issues except one time my whole game quit on an error. No issues of waiting more then 1-2 mins waiting to get into a game. Also we run with a guy from Canada with us and have no issues partying up.

Some of the same guys as you. Defensively I try and get Rook always to throw down the armor for my team but if someone takes Rook, I wait to see who the rest of the team takes. I think having Castle and Mute are an absolute must on defense so if either of those are open after Rook is taken, I go with them. Otherwise, it's Jager all day because of his carbine.

Offensively, I lean towards Fuze and Thermite but would use any of Ash, Sledge and Thatcher as well. Typically one of those is available and when we play Ranked, only a select few of our regulars can be trusted to use Fuze when it's Hostage

                            Re: Rainbow Six Siege

I take different guys for different reasons. I enjoy playing as any of the guys honestly but these are my go to.

Ash - Her light armor makes her an excellent silent assassin with her silenced assault rifle. My general role I use her for is to catch roamers, I like to stay in a crouch to minimize her noise. Use her breach charge to cause distractions THEN use her speed to rush a room FAST FAST. Launch a charge at the opposite side of their defense room, a sec after it explodes which will draw their attention to the hole, sprint into the room and merc people.

Montagne - When people utilize montagne properly they can be a breaching force. He is basically invincible when faced from the front, his only weaknesses are nitro charges & flanks. He is the eyes and should only be played by someone who utilizes their mic.

I'll show a child like illustration how we use him. 1 operator will be watching the rear and other possible flanking locations. Operator 2 will be montagne weapon, he will utilize montagne shield to get the drop on enemies inside of a defensive room.

Step 1: Montagne extends shield, positions his self so he can see inside the room. Don't stand in middle of door way, because they will then see BEHIND him when someone is ready to strafe out. Instead, position where you cover half the door way.

Step 2: Montagne is calling out specific locations of enemy, while most likely taking fire. This is normally executed as fast as possible before the enemy can realize to hold their fire.

Step 3: Operator 2 slides behind montagne and extends right behind his shoulder, killing the called out enemies. The important thing here, they don't see you preparing to slide around, they won't expect it allowing operator 2 to get the drop on them.

Step 4: Montagne moves inside, clearing both corners before team moves in and performs it all over again at the next room.

Glaz - He has several advantages besides just his scope. On the plane level his rifle is the only weapon which can kill through the windows, so climbing to the wing and dispatching enemies from a completely unexpected location can quickly change the tide.

I like to pair his rifle with the silencer, stay outside and allow my team to open long sight lines. When you do move inside, positioning yourself laying on the floor, in-line with the breaching door can be devastating also. As soon as the charge is breached you will be in perfect position to drop a couple, while being hard to detect with the smoke and debris, plus your low profile.

Pulse - In my opinion he is the best roamer in the game. I like to go directly for drones at the start, attempting to remove as many as possible before they can locate the defense area. Plus buying time for mute to place jammers. Once the assault phase begins, roam the map, preparing to flank at their breach locations. Utilizing the heart beat sensor to catch them when they believe they are safe.

Thatcher - I think Thatcher is under utilized to be honest. He isn't the greatest when you face a defending team which runs 1 or 2 roamers, but when you face a team all huddled inside the defended location he is a beast. He will allow breaching at just about any location except reinforced walls.

One of the coolest and least talked about ways to utilize his emp is to "remove" all "white noise" inside the defenders room. I'll give you an example, say entire defending team is inside the administrative offices. Radios are yappin away, machines are causing buzzing, ceiling fans are spinning away, and several different devices are causing noise. It normally goes unnoticed by most people, until they are all huddle up and an emp rolls into the room and blows out all the electrically equipment and the room goes DEAD silent, its an eerie feeling. At this point, any movement by the defenders is easily heard, but on top of that, their OH **** tension factor will go sky high anticipating where the breach will come from. Coordinate two or three breach charges at different locations and when its dead silent, several charges going off at the same time will be quite the shock.

Bandit - I feel he is another under utilized operator who can completely remove avenues to the attackers UNLESS they have thatcher. Place a barbed wire directly in the MIDDLE of a door way, have castle place a door, then place the shock device on your side of the door. It will make it darn near impossible for the attackers to destroy the shock device and will force them to get shocked if they want to place a charge on the door. Do this at each door entry point and you can really force the attackers into choke points.

I feel if you combo the right people you can really cause hell. Bandit + Castle with the above usage to lock a room. Mute placing jammers at the window entry points to prevent breaching charges. Jager to prevent fuze from causing hell inside the room and smoke to deter entry areas. LOL I could talk different strategies on this game all the time, so much fun!!!

It's very odd. No problems whatsoever otherwise with this game.

I played all weekend and it was perfect on casual. The only issue was ranked servers were down, but this didn't matter much because casual worked perfect and very fast.
