I'll be honest motion controls on the handheld itself almost impossible due to how you have to do them BU!

ON the GRIP? a joy to do. As you know theres ob flip over mechanic that having the joycons in the grip form really makes those puzzles not easier but more enjoyable cuz it turns into this nice rubix cube type of movement device.

Again Im sorry to say that Zelda plays better on switch due to this.

id only imagine the frustration playing on the tablet or even doing the motion stuff with the switch in handheld mode.

It's not that I can't do them. It's just that they are a dumb chore. They take away from the game for me. Pretty much my only complaint about the game. That and I wish there was an easier way to ditch shields and bows.

It honestly is one of the best games I have ever played, and in certain aspects it is the best I have experienced (at certain things it does). Finding new play mechanics and interesting ways to interact with the world/enemies is just so enjoyable. It's a masterpiece in exploration and discovery.

Also something to note are the physics of the game

They are in part of the main things I love almost everything has a realistic touch to it

How far along do you have to be to take on the Hinox that are laying around? I've been avoiding them and guardians for the longest time but I feel I might be ready.

Also, those wizards that float around in the air guarding some of the towers, how do you defeat them? Are arrows the easiest way?

I use ice arrows on those wizards. Seems to work well. I avoided guardians until I had the right equipment. Once you do they are not an issue.

So after about 38 hours I have just finished unlocking the full map and have really only see like 50% of the world. I have 3 dungeons left still and like 98 shrines and like ever side mission still to go.

My playtime is at 95 hrs (says Nintendo)

I've unlocked the entire map through towers but have not explored 75% of the map.

I have done very little story or side quests though they are unlocked and I have done a few other things to make the unlocking of the map easier.

Ive only done 16 shrines. I want to do more but I ALWAYS ALWAYS get side tracked by exploring the areas where I set off to to do more shrines.

This game is the ultimate TIME SYNC. I'm playing it at a pace of utter wonder and awe. Meaning I'm just going and looking at everything I can soaking it all in because ive never seen any game do what it does like it does or look like it does.

The rock formations are just breathtaking....

Best game I've ever played and I have yet to even scratch the surface of it all.

Yeah this game final passed Oot as my favorite video game of all time. I knew the game was going to be massive but it is even bigger then I could have imagine. It almost fells like the map is never going to end because it is so big. Its great how different areas of the map have different creatures and animals. It makes the game fell so alive and its great to continue to see new things all the time. I do hope that in the next Zelda we get more dungeons though because that has always been my favorite part of Zelda games. Dungeons are easy the biggest weakness in the game. There are like 50-60% less dungeons in the game then a normal Zelda and they are like half the size then a normal dungeon and don't fell that much different from each other I would say after having done the first 2. How ever because the game is so massive and it is so much fun to just see new things and explore it is more of a small issue in the game but hey nothing is perfect. Also the voice acting in this game is nice. It still something I am getting used to after having never had it before in a Zelda game but I think Nintendo did a really good job with the way voice acting is used and the way cutscenes are done. When it comes to this game and Nintendo all I can say is.

dungeons are semi weighed down by the shrines now as well so it makes up for the dungeon loss with what I consider much more preferable

                        That said

Im very happy you feel the same as I do.

OOT was the best and now another Zelda tops it Just WOW Nintendo WOW

and im thinking WAY ahead now and I shouldn't be but I guess that how our minds work nowadays too is I wonder what else can be done to make an even better game?

I mean I ALWAYS wanted a GTA in which ALL the buildings and stores were open to have this living breathing world like we have in reality (LOL to that comment)

BoTW IS getting DLC and we all know its adding another dungeon and adding more story

mentioning Mario odyssey im very much intrigued to the this exact quote from reggie about "a massive Mario game" which make me now think. Zelda is BEYOND massive so to say something massive AFTER Zelda can only mean one thing...Its gonna be BIG! So who the heck knows what happens there I mean if they make amiibos unlock playable characters in game with their own storylines? then UM yeah that will be crazy

There are a few reason I miss dungeons and why I fell like they are not the same as shrines.

                          1. The shrines are much smaller. Yes I know there are a lot of them to the point where if you take all of them they may be around the same size as having just 8-10 dungeons but its still not the same to me.

                          2. The different bosses that come with different dungeon. The fact that there are like bosses out in the world kind of makes up for this though. So far I have only seen like 3 in the world though and the 2 dungeon bosses so far I fell like where not that much different from each other though.

                          3. Music the shrines all have the same music where dungeons all have good and different type of music from each other.

                          4. The fact ever shrine has that blue and brown look to it makes them look to much alike where with dungeons they look a lot different from each other with like different themes.

                          5. Not only do regular dungeons give you bosses to fight but you also get some min bosses in some of those unlike shrines.

When it comes to the dlc dungeon I am wondering if it is going to be more like the dungeons we already got or if it is going to be more like the old Zelda dungeons both in looks and in its size. It will be interesting to see what the story dlc is but I am far from finishing the game and don't look at spoilers so maybe I would have a better idea if I had already beaten the game. Also the dlc is giving use some new map feature or something and I have zero idea what that could even be.

I didn't hear that about Mario but Mario looks great and while I like Mario I have always found Mario to be very overrated because it is the most popular Nintendo franchise yet I think Zelda and DK are much better franchises. I would take just about ever Zelda game over just about ever Mario game and I would take DK 2, DKCR and DKCTF all over any Mario game ever made. With that said Mario looks like it could be flat out amazing from the little we have seen.

I haven't finished the game, and I'm nowhere near finishing it either but I can't say this is the best Zelda. It's really good but it is such a departure of what Zelda games were that it is hard to compare it to the others. Missing so many key elements, like tri-forces, music, hookshots, magic, boomerangs (the boomerang in this game is not the same), side quests for heart pieces and bottles, etc. This game is great and I can compare it to games like The Witcher but I can't really compare it to Zelda games.

I'm not sure how many shrines I've done, but I've done enough for that I have 9 hearts, 2 stamina upgrades, plus one more heart for the only Divine Beast I've done. I'm on my way to do another Divine Beast, just takes so long to get there because of all the distractions in game. I rarely ever jump on a horse, more fun to just roam around with my Wolf Link by my side (who has 20 hearts by the way!).

In my humble opinion(because app. NOW you have to REALLY tread lightly here about what you feel about a game before the other console players try to one up you)

The snow bowling minigame really is the best way to earned rupees. I spent 45 minutes last night bowling while watching the tournament and got around 17,000 rupees. Was able to buy and full furnish my house plus have over 10k left for whenever I come across that final fairy fountain. This was actually the first time I have used my Switch outside of the dock. Nice to be able to play it in handheld mode when you can do something with your attention split.

I tried a few different methods for the snow bowling that I saw online, but this one was the easiest and most reliable for me:
