Use a multi shot bow against them and shoot them in the face, that will stun him and allow you to mount him and hack away. But the best thing to do is just dodge so you get the flurry rush attack on him. Keep your distance when he does those attacks that create a circle around him and just run when he shoots the fireballs at you. If you're quick enough with your shot if you can shoot him in the face when he starts to do the fireballs you can stop him. Usually there's always something to jump off of around one of them that way you can do the slow motion bow and arrow to give you better aim. Using the Divine Beast shock power also causes him to be stunned so you can mount him. So I always use that as well. Oh and a lot of times I eat a food that is five Mighty bananas cooked, that gives you a four minute triple attack power boost. That helps you take him out faster for sure. Sometimes towards the end of the fight he will shoot shock arrows at you, if he does that I usually change to my rubber armor so that I don't drop my weapons.

I didn't know about the monster medals you get from Kilton. I was at his shop this morning and he gave me a medal for killing all the Moldulga monsters. So now I'm going to have to go kill all the Talus and Hinox monsters as well.
Lately I've just been going around getting monster parts for armor upgrades. The only two I don't have at 4 stars are the Barbarian and the Soldier sets which I have at 3 stars. Sidequests are next.

Re: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch/WiiU)
I haven't noticed it, but evidently when you fight a monster that you've already killed and has been respawned by a Blood Moon, in the title of the monster when the battle begins it will say defeated. That way you know you've already beat that monster and you can run away if you want. I've killed quite a few Hinox monsters, but definitely not 40 different ones.
It's good to have these post-story completion tasks to do.

So I did the journey out to Eventide Island last night. What a fun adventure, especially after 'leveling up' in the game. A good challenge (that I failed) and now have to start over on...including getting back out to the islandXBox Gamertag: djbeth77

Re: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch/WiiU)
I managed to tame my second Divine Beast the other day: Vah Naboris. That final battle was INTENSE! The puzzles inside the beast were tripping me up at first, but once I finally sat back for a few minutes and analyzed what I was supposed to be doing, I figured it all out.
I'm up over 50 hours into this game and loving that I haven't had to click on a guide (text or video) to figure out what I'm supposed to be doing in the game.
Wife and I are both on work trips currently, but I get back into town 5 days before she does, so I'm hoping to make some good progress in the story during that time.
I'm already dreaming about my 2nd playthrough ... anyone else?Currently Playing:

Re: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch/WiiU)
I was about 70 hours in and defeated the 4 Temples and tried my hand at the final boss once but died, this was on the WiiU version. Then I bought a Switch and bought it again, wish I had played it on switch in the first place but I am set to play through again once the DLC hits and I'll give hard mode a try.XBL: Countach

Haven't been able to locate a wolf Amiibo anywhere. Any of you guys try buying a Wolf Amiibo NFC tag on eBay?Comment

I have the WiiU box (unopened) of Twilight Princess with Amiibo.
Will that Amiibo work with BOTW?
I've never used an Abiibo yet. Only other one I have is the Yoshi one that came with Wooly WorldJoshua:

Yes the wolf will appear in the game with you and help you hunt and fight enemies. There is something in twilight princess called the cave of trials that you play to give your wolf more hearts in the new game.
