Re: The Last of Us: Remastered
Picked this game up again on the flash sale. My most recent save was of my grounded+ Playthrough and I have decided to restart since its been so long.
I'm knocking it down a few levels easier, going back to regular hard mode, except disabling all the hints/melee prompts/listen mode stuff so it feels like survivor/grounded a little bit.
I never finished Left Behind either so I have content still undiscovered.
A buncha pages back (like 10 pages or so I think) we had a discussion around the ending and morals/ethics on the whole situation. I think I'll always be in the minority as far as which side I stand on but I also still believe it's naughty dogs triumph as far as crafting an artistic tale that allows for such varied and passionate interpretations"Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: The Last of Us: Remastered
I'm going to make a somewhat controversial statement. I've read on here how much everyone loves this game, both on PS3 and the Remastered on PS4. I had never played it and didn't know too much on the back story.
I'm not too far into the game (spoilered below), but honestly, I'm just not enjoying it. Which sucks because I was really anticipating it. Does it get better?
SpoilerI just got through the part where Ellie shoots the guy while they are outside and they go on the run and have to hide in the shadowsComment

Left Behind is heavily story based but the ending makes it worth it and im hoping that Naughty Dog adds the new gameplay element in the end to the eventual sequel as the possibilities on what you would be able to do gameplay wise would be awesome.
As for the ending, I would have made the same choice.Comment

Originally posted by The JareBearSpoilerI don't blame the characters for what happens, and I probably would have done the same thing, but that doesn't make it right or wrong. It just depends on how you look at the situation. I maintain that either way the game has only one true hero and it isn't Joel. Ellie is the only real hero of LoU, in my opinion.
SpoilerI would make the same decision as Joel for two reasons. First, to have a second chance at having a daughter that was lost and second, because looking at humanity and seeing something screwed up happening every time you turn around makes the decision very easy in my opinion.
Agree in regards to Joel and Ellie but I can easily understand Joel making the decision that he did simply because in his eyes, Ellie is worth more to him than saving humanity.Comment

Re: The Last of Us: Remastered
There's definitely many ways to look at it. I feel pretty strongly about my interpretation but that's just me. Until Naughty Dog tells me there was only one way to look at it I'll continue to believe in my personal view of it. As far as I know there's no real right or wrong perception."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: The Last of Us: Remastered
Finally beat this game. 22 hours, 9 minutes & 23 seconds.
It's weird because Summer was so damn long, that when Fall hit I thought: "Am I only a quarter of the way through the game?" Then it seemed every season got exponentially shorter than the one before it. I spent so much time conserving things like ammo and equipment upgrades and such, that now I feel like: "Aw damn it, I could have made it so much easier on myself!" It would be interesting to replay the game with the equipment and upgrades that I now have.
Anyway, as everyone knows the gameplay is great, the story is pretty good (by that I mean where the story takes you as you game), but the relationship between characters being insanely fantastic. I don't know, the ending lazed out on me just a slight bit maybe because I couldn't feel the climaxing moment too much, but there is a Part II coming out and of course I am ever so intrigued to purchase it when it does. The most emotional part from this game, of course, is its very very beginning. There was another part between Ellie and Joel that got me choked up a bit later in the game. Outside of that, I was just pretty into playing for the sake of playing.
Ellie doing things like humming, whistling, beat-boxing, cracking puns, etc. are always hilarious. It keeps her very human-esque in a game that is supposed to make people much less humane. She's just a kid, and it really help make this game work.
I've been avoiding the Part II trailer and such. Anyone think if I'm someone who doesn't even like watching movie trailers because of spoiled content, should I bother checking it out? Or should I just wait till the game itself comes out, do ya think?
EDIT: Ah, New Game Plus is what I was thinking of trying. Obviously not now, but I'll give it a replay someday.Last edited by Blzer; 07-28-2018, 11:36 PM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

I would say to watch the trailer from this past E3. It's definitely worth watching and should get you hyped for Part II if you're not already.Comment

Re: The Last of Us: Remastered
Thanks. Seems like the perfect way to tease the new game!
By the way, I noticed an Easter egg in the first one when walking around. I wouldn't really call this a spoiler, but in case anyone wants to find it for themselves then don't click away.
Spoiler
If you want to know where this was (this part is a little more spoiler-heavy)...
SpoilerIt's during the summer right after you meet Henry and Sam, when Sam finds the toy and wants to put it in his backpack. It's against the far wall.Last edited by Blzer; 07-30-2018, 03:14 AM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
