Those of you who are thinking of getting Rogue, Target will have have it for $35 and Walmart for $25 on Black Thursday. Really good value if you ask me at those prices. Not as long a game as Black Flag, but you can't beat the value for a fun 30 hour or so game.

Here's a review by someone who knows what they're talking about. I think a lot of people are missing out on a great game here just because it's only on last gen and came out when it did.

Re: Assassin's Creed: Rogue (360, PS3)
Currently on sequence 6 which is the last sequence. Getting closer and closer to 100% total sync. The Naval Campaign is going to be what takes me a day or two to complete.Comment

Re: Assassin's Creed: Rogue (360, PS3)
To give a better idea, out of the AC games I have played and completed, it's -
Rogue > Black Flag > Syndicate (currently playing) > Unity > Liberation HD.
With that said though, Syndicate has the chance to match Black Flag. They added a lot of stuff that was in Rogue/Black Flag that I loved. Basically, if you liked and enjoyed Black Flag, you should like Rogue as much or if you're like me, more than Black Flag.Comment

Re: Assassin's Creed: Rogue (360, PS3)
Because I completed Black Flag 100% and put in over 120 hours. I'm still somewhat early in Syndicate but im enjoying it more than Unity and Liberation HD. Plus, I absolutely loved the naval battles and Caribbean setting in Black Flag. It was those two things that sold me with Black Flag and made me become an AC fan.Comment

Re: Assassin's Creed: Rogue (360, PS3)
Originally posted by 23I'm a big fan of Black Flag, but I don't know if I can call this newer game a weaker AC. Haven't seen where people say the story opens up in Syndicate yet but the gang territory thing intrigues me.
In Black Flag/Rogue, the crouching is automatic when going into bushes and stuff and there's no cover button but the difference is that the controls were better as was the response time. Response time is bad in Syndicate at times and worse in Unity. This is why im so looking forward to next year's AC game. It's said to be in development by those who developed Black Flag so im hoping they go back to what it was and just add a crouch button and a cover button.
There's a lot of stuff in Syndicate that was in Black Flag/Rogue and you'll notice it right away. Just by looking at all the stuff that can be done in the progress tracker, you'll see that they took a lot of stuff from Black Flag/Rogue which is actually great because I love a lot of that stuff.
Also, as great as London looks and whatnot, Paris did look better in Unity but had way too many NPC's in the way which is a positive for Syndicate. However, Black Flag's and Rogue's locales were better in my opinion and granted, I favor those more than the "city" vibe of Unity and Syndicate.
Honestly, they all have their positives and negatives. For me, Rogue is best at 9.5/10, Black Flag at a 9/10, Unity at an 8/10 and Liberation at an 7/10. Syndicate is at least an 8/10 thus far and unless I see some horrible stuff happen or the story and characters just end up sucking, it should be higher than Unity by the time I finish the game.
Another factor is that Rogue is a pure single player only experience. There's no multi-player, no online, no DLC, no season pass, no co-op, no apps, etc. Even the naval campaign (the mini ship battles) can be played and completed off-line. Unity added several things that I didn't like and thankfully, Syndicate eliminated the majority of that crap but it does still have micro-transactions which I despise and UPlay (now Ubisoft Club) items that get unlocked via that club.
Thankfully, the rest is all single player which makes me extremely happy. I'm currently on sequence four, memory six even though memory five is locked for whatever reason thus far. Thus far, Syndicate is good and im enjoying it a lot more than Unity but it hasn't come close to Black Flag yet and while you may think that because of that, how could I put it ahead of Black Flag? While it's not ahead of Black Flag, it most likely will be if the story missions follow Unity and Rogue - and that's by NOT having any eavesdropping missions as there were way too many in Black Flag which was a huge negative for me and prevented me from giving the game I higher rating.
In summary, there's a lot of stuff that im enjoying in Syndicate but the free running/parkour isn't as good as Black Flag/Rogue and the camera is way too close when in cover but on the other side, it has a lot of side quests and whatnot that im enjoying a lot because the majority of them remind me of Black Flag/Rogue which is a huge positive for me. In the end, it's going to come down to how the story and characters play out and how good those missions and objectives are compared to Black Flag/Rogue.
Back to Rogue, it's an excellent ******* game period and it's better than Unity and has a connection with Unity even though they screwed it up in Unity.
On a side note - there should be an Assassin's Creed general topic where we can talk about all of them or at the very least, the ones we've played. LOL.Comment
