Re: Assassin's Creed: Rogue
Details from Joystiq.com -
Ubisoft will launch Assassin's Creed Rogue for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 later this year, a Game Informer cover story revealed today.
Though it will debut alongside Assassin's Creed Unity for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Assassin's Creed Rogue is a completely different game. Featuring a story that takes place during the Seven Years' War, Rogue puts players in control of a former Assassin who has since switched allegiances and joined up with the Templars.
Rogue's gameplay will revisit the naval combat mechanics previously featured in Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, and its story spans an 18th-century New York, the Appalachian River Valley, and the North Atlantic Ocean. Rogue's narrative serves to bridge the gap that separates Assassin's Creed 3 and Black Flag.
Personally, I loved Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag as it was my own 2013 game of the year. I loved the naval battles in Black Flag and look forward to that yet again. It's a Ubisoft year for me. I love Ubisoft!!! -

Being my favorite series I am so pumped for any Assassins Creed game, but I know as soon as I buy this for the PS3 they will announce in January that it will be out on the PS4....In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

If Ubisoft was to release an "updated" version of a previous gen game, I would think that Far Cry 3 would be the only game to get that "updated" version.
Thankfully, Ubisoft has thus far stayed away from doing what other companies are doing. I hope it stays this way.Comment

Re: Assassin's Creed: Rogue (360, PS3)
New info for Assassin's Creed: Rogue -
-Assassin's Creed: Rogue will be SINGLE PLAYER ONLY and does not have a multi-player or co-op mode whatsoever.
-You control The Morrigan which is a smaller ship compared to Black Flag's The Jackdaw due to the fact that you'll have to sail through rivers and smaller areas.
-The Morrigan can be boarded by enemy ships which involves you defending your crew.
-Before becoming a Templar and joining their order, you'll play a few missions as an Assassin which setup the turn.
-Ubisoft has said that there's overt link between Rogue and Unity which happens in the final moments of the game.

Re: Assassin's Creed: Rogue (360, PS3)
Quite honestly, I don't see Ubisoft announcing a PS4/Xbox One version of Assassin's Creed: Rogue. Ubisoft is the one company that hasn't announced, developed or released a "remastered" or "definitive edition" of any previous gen game for PS4/Xbox One.
If Ubisoft was to release an "updated" version of a previous gen game, I would think that Far Cry 3 would be the only game to get that "updated" version.

They did it for Black Flag.
I would disagree with you though. I would love for them to remaster all of the Assassins Creed games to the new gen. They are really about the only games except the Uncharted Series, Mass Effect or Skyrim that I consistently play over and over again.
I do think we will see a remastered edition, why turn away easy money. But you could very will be right. In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

When I say remaster or definitive edition, etc., I meant games like The Last Of Us, Tomb Raider, Metro and the upcoming Sleeping Dogs.
The main reason I don't see Ubisoft "updating" previous gen games is because unlike other companies, they're working on either upcoming sequels that are either cross gen (Far Cry 4 for example) or current gen only (Assassin's Creed: Unity) or new IP's like next year's The Division and Rainbow Six: Siege. They're also rumored to be working on a new Splinter Cell game as well as a new downloadable game (im hoping for Outland 2).
That's why Ubisoft is my favorite developer, publisher and my go to company. For 2014, I'll have finished a whopping SEVEN games from Ubisoft which is easily and by far, a new record in regards to how many games I have finished in a year from one company.Comment

Re: Assassin's Creed: Rogue (360, PS3)
Really curious to see how this game turns out. Also having Templar technology along with Assassin training could lead to a pure bad *** lead character. I'm gonna enjoy not looking at the Assassins as just pure good guys while the Templars being evil and hoping for a more complex and critical look at their feud.
Would have liked some MP, but I truly only play Wolfpack mode anyway. Give me a good story, a fun open world, an engaging protagonist and bring back hunting amd I'm set. Who knows, this may get more play for me than Unity, especially if unity isn't as polished as it should be.Last edited by cdawg44; 08-09-2014, 12:16 AM."If you have a linebacker on him, you might as well start singing their fight song." -- WSU coach Bill Doba on Reggie Bush

Some great videos on the game. There are a lot of similarities to AC IV guys will notice. Also the Forts missions from AC III also make a comeback. Being boarded looks awesome plus fighting the assassins will be tough."If you have a linebacker on him, you might as well start singing their fight song." -- WSU coach Bill Doba on Reggie Bush

Re: Assassin's Creed: Rogue (360, PS3)
A few hours late updating this topic due to work. Thanks cdawg44 for posting a link to the two videos below. After watching both videos twice, im even more hyped for Rogue than I was before Gamescom. Only thing that bugs me is that big round circle under Shay when using Eagle vision. Other than that, no complaints thus far.
