Well the PS2 has propbably hit it's apex and now it's going to be rare to see games that push the system. Just take sports games, even though EA Sports is programming them for the PS2, most games look outdated on that system.

I would say the PS2 has a few graphical surprises up its sleeve but for the most part we are going to be seeing the advances on the Xbox.

I just think it is wierd because graphically, there are some incredible looking games on the horizon for all the systems. As a Gamecube owner, it amazes me looking at screens and movies of RE4 and I can't wait for that new Zelda. I don't think it would be smart for MS since Halo 2 is going to be a big release at the end of this year. Halo still sells a lot and I assume Halo 2 will sell well into next year and beyond, but if they release a new console without the harddrive and backwards compatibility, MS loses some of the advantages they have had this generation. They will probably end up with the least powerful of the 3 systems. I personally think it is too early to release it next year. That means that the Xbox only lasted 4 years.

Sony is definately in the driver's seat right now. I don't have a clue what Nintendo is going to do.

I don't see it coming out until fall 2006 personally. They could be trying to bluff Sony or Nintendo into revealing their hand early. Who knows. I'll play the waiting game.
