It depends what kind of game you like, if you're really into the realistic combat sims that are really popular right now then Halo 2 probably won't be for you. But as far as Half-Life type shooters on the console, nothing tops Halo. I wasn't all that impressed by it at first, but the more I played(especially multiplayer) the better it got to me. I guess in your situation I'd wait a while and see how people feel about Halo 2, if it turns out to be the Game of the Year as most people expect, then it might be hard to stay away from. But it's got so much hype that it's gonna behard to live up to it all.

As for the game, I have never really played Halo, i wasnt impressed with it but when i did play it back in the day, i hadnt yet played a game online. now that online gaming is my new "thing" im interested in this game cause of all the hype. do yall think this game will be better than say Ghost Recon? how many ppl can play on a single map?

Originally posted by CM1847Completely differnt from Ghost Recon/Rainbow Six type games. Those are ment to be realistic combat types. Halo is a run and shoot game. You can get shot in the head with a rifle 10 times and not die. Halo 1 had a max of 16 people per map(4 on 4 xboxs). I read that you can play 16 people on 16 different xboxs in Halo 2. I hope they let at least 32 in per map though, there are some reports that some of the new maps are HUGE and even 8 on 8 wouldn't be enough people to do the size justice.

Re: HALO 2 8/24 release, rumors, etc
i dont really know if im the "combat sim" type. I did love ghost recon a great deal, I also love the Battlefeild vietnam/1942 games. are they considered battlefeild sim? I really loved just taking the tanks and blowin crap up and i know that the game isnt that realistic but I think that I might like some aspects of halo cause I loved capture the flag in battlefeild 1942, i was upset when they didnt include it in vietnam. I think im def. gonna check this game out and give it a chance. its cool cause im not counting down minutes or anything like i do with football/baseball games but when it does come out ill check it out. Funny thing is that my damn sister came out to visit me a few months ago and she was pumped about the game, i didnt even know she played them. I think she just plays halo. thats reason enough for me to check it out.Comment
