If you're a pad guy, you might want to stay away from the new Mad Catz; I'm hearing that it's awful. No complaints from me whatsoever regarding the TE2+ stick, though.

Re: Street Fighter V
I made the decision and I'm in. Seeing as this is a small download I should be playing at some point tomorrow.
Gonna do a lot of practicing before I jump online. I at least wanted to give the player ranking a bit of time to sort itself out (i.e. so I'm not playing tourney-level players the moment I hop online), and I've been seeing the impressions gradually get better since release. Definitely still feels like I'm buying half a game right now, though - for now this is more of an investment into squeezing some more use out of my PS3 TE stick.
Don't know how I'm going to deal with the DLC characters yet - depends on how easy it is to earn the in-game money needed to unlock them (and of course, whether I'll use them).
Will probably main Cammy as usual, and want to give Karin a try since I never really got into SFA3.Comment

Re: Street Fighter V
Characters cost 100k fight money. Finishing all the character stories (under an hour skipping cutscenes) with the characters starting at Lvl 1 will get you 160k fight money. From their survival grants fight money. I think someone on NeoGAF said they had at least 450k after doing all easy, normal, and hard survivals. Online fights are roughly 50 fight money per win I think, and leveling characters grants fight money at 1,000 a pop I believe.
The question is how easy and how much money will challenges give out when they come in, and how many things Capcom will come up with to suck away your fight money. The costumes you get from completing character stories must then be unlocked from the store for I believe 40k fight money.Comment

Re: Street Fighter V
I think I have like 160K right now. Enough for a new character and Laura's costume. Beyond that, I'll probably just buy everything.Comment

Re: Street Fighter V
LOL, 1 bar connections in this game are pure despair - it's not the slowdown you usually see in fighting games, its actual frame rate skipping. Just brutal. Fortunately I've only experienced that once, and all but 2 of my online fights have been 5 bar, and it feels like playing offline to me.
Doing alright online so far, I feel like I made the right decision to wait a few days. I realize you don't get better by playing bad players, but it's rather depressing to buy the game on launch and start out 0-35 because all the high-level players are starting to build their rank up (happened to me on MKX).Comment

Re: Street Fighter V
Been a rough stretch for me online lately. It seems like a lot of the bums have already cleared out, and people are starting to figure out Laura. I've gotta get it together lol.Comment

Re: Street Fighter V
I can do a Cammy one kinda like that in practice for 446 dmg using V trigger and crit art. It's the most unsafe thing ever aside from a whiffed/blocked DP though so I'd only ever use it in a stun combo or if I'm really sure they're going to eat the jump in.
Will post it if I ever pull it off in a match.Comment
