This thread is amazingly confusing to me. Networked downloads? Exports? Codes? Calling different companies and asking for songs?

I just bought all my songs in the marketplace directly so I have no idea what a lot of you are talking about and if my songs will be there or not.

Songs from RB1, 2, 3, Lego, Blitz, Beatles, and Green Day contain songs that are not available in any digital store. I don't believe RB3 or Beatles have any exportation method at all, but the others have some sort of code or ability for you to be able to transfer your songs to future versions of the game.

So earlier I made mention of a song like Livin' On a Prayer from RB2, or like Summer of '69 from Lego Rock Band. I won't be able to play those songs, or much less purchase them, unless I already have an export code from those game discs.

Network - there was a program last gen that let people put their own songs up for sale if they had the license to them. Doesn't exist anymore.
Exports - many old disc songs carried over to the next main game
Codes - exports (all except RB1) required codes
Calling companies - people who never exported and trying to get lucky with a code now

If you only ever bought from marketplace, you just have DLC. That's cool and it'll carry over.

Waiting for a call from EA about Green Day Rock Band export. Checked my services list on my PS3 and the Green Day Rock Band export entitlement is listed but isn't letting me do anything.

Ok, so I already entered my code for Green Day Rock Band back when I got the game. I just never exported the songs. Anyway, I popped in the game and went to export and it gave me the prompt to pay the $9.99. I did so and the export pack is now currently downloading to my PS3. I guess as long as my code is already entered it doesn't matter when I export it. I guess it is new codes being entered that won't register.

We'll see in a few minutes once this finishes downloading. I will pop in Rock Band 3 and see if the songs show up there. Then check on PS4 to see if I can then download them to Rock Band 4.

I think I heard the exports are still not ready to use rock band 4 wise.

As long as they show up on Rock Band 3 I am good. At least I will be able to get them to PS4 when they are available to redownload there.

Yeah, I definitely exported Green Day: Rock Band and I don't have the Green Day songs in Rock Band 4 for free yet, unless I'm missing something.

Livin' On A Prayer was re-released as DLC with keyboard tracks for Rock Band 3, and that's in the Rock Band Store (I know because I bought it for RB3 and have already downloaded it for RB4).

Not that that's the most optimal route, but it is available if you're dying to play it.

You're not. I think right now it's still seeing just DLC purchases as giving the entitlements to RB4 downloads and not the GD:RB export.

You're not. I think right now it's still seeing just DLC purchases as giving the entitlements to RB4 downloads and not the GB:RB export.

Yeah they are not showing up as free. Happy that I will have them for my library now though once they are available. I wasted 40 minutes on the phone with EA who didn't have any idea what to do. I just said "screw it, I am gonna buy the pack and see what happens."

Apparently I bought green day rock band new and was able to export. After this step do I need to do anything besides just wait for them to be activated in RB4?

Nope. Once you download and install to your system you are good to go. When they are released for PS4/X-Box I assume we just download them again on there.
