My kids are older now, but Rock Band 4 under the tree was still a big hit!

Got the RB3 songs imported for 15. Rock Band Green Day, which I had previously imported to RB3 were included, but had to download separately. So with preorder bonus, that's 129 extra songs.

Got this as a christmas gift. I used to play alot, but was pretty po'd that they took out keys and released without online play so I wasnt going to buy it, but whatever. I almost exclusively played pro keys or guitar/bass on the keyboard peripheral and Im no longer any good at guitar lol.

Wish I could transfer my dlc over to ps4 bc I have like 1500 songs and have no intentions of buying a ONE anytime soon, but Im just gonna buy new dlc for now and maybe a few of the must owns like the boston pack I guess.

Does anyone have problems with the leaderboards? I can see the leaderboards, but we are consistently getting top 5 in harmonies and nothing is posting.

Leaderboards are funny. Sometimes your score posts right away and other times it takes some time.

My wife bought this for my son and I for Xmas. The on-disc set list is a big turd for the most part, but I was able to get most (I think) of my old 360 DLC downloaded, so that's cool.

As far as the exporting goes, we've owned RB 1 and 2, but not anymore, and we never owned 3. What are my export options, if any?

              Thanks guys!

It's no longer possible to export RB1, RB2, or LEGO. If you never had RB3, that means you never exported RB2, so you're out of luck there. If you exported RB1 to RB2 in the past, you'll get those songs in January.

RB3 is a different process. If you've played RB3 in the past, it recognizes that and gives you the option to export those songs to RB4. I'm not sure what the actual requirements are for it to recognize you though.

So it sounds like I should get the RB1 songs then? That's cool.

I wonder if it makes sense to to grab a new copy of RB3 on Ebay? Should be able to grab it for $34 or so.

                  Thanks for your help SmashMan!

Re: Rock Band 4 (PS4, XBOX One)

Depends how much the songs are worth to you, I guess. $34 for the game, $15 for the export. $50 combined for 83 songs isn't that bad of a deal if you like most of the songs.

You would have to play RB3 on your account on 360 though for it to allow you the ability to export. Like I said, I'm not sure what exactly triggers it - if it's just logging playtime, sees your earn a few achievements or whatever. Most people have had it work fine though. For those that don't, they contact Harmonix and figure it out with them.

Yeah, without knowing for sure, and after thinking about it today, I may just buy a bunch of songs and call it a day.

                      Thanks again for your help.

So if we can't import, say, the LEGO Rock Band songs, will the individual tracks be purchasable as DLC in the RB Store?

I really just want Summer of '69, and call it a day.

                          Currently, no.

They've said they could relicense individual songs from those games later, but as of now the only way people will play them in RB4 is to have exported in the past.

Okay, well the thing of it is I did export in the past, but I downloaded it on my PS3 from another OS user's account (we shared LEGO Rock Band because mine was sold out at Old Navy when I tried to get it on Black Friday that year). So, I downloaded it and even played it on my account, but I never officially owned it. I don't think this will end up working for me.

I'm thinking of trading in a couple games and picking this up tonight. I haven't paid much attention to the game since release but I was getting caught up now on Reddit. Read a lot of posts about issues with instruments but firmware update thru PC fixes it?

I just wanna play guitar, I mean the game is fine now right? I can purchase free of fear of having game breaking issues?

You should be good man. The last update in early December fixed a lot of calibration issues. You still may get a disconnect with the guitar here and there but it is Bluetooth, so it can happen. Enjoy!
