Rainbow Six 3 "Black arrow" Question

Is it worth $39.95 or is it very similar to the last Rainbow Six for the Xbox? How does the online game rate against the previous version?

Online is much better because of the new game modes. The gameplay is pretty much the same as last year, but the modes completely change the way you play it online.

Agreed. Truthfully, I couldn't stand the original RB6 3. It got stale rather fast. However, I'm having a blast with BA. The maps are an upgrade in graphical design and some of them are rather huge. The two new multiplayer modes, retrieval and total conquest, are a blast if you can find a good group to play with. Spawn camping is an issue in random online games, but supposedly Ubisoft is coming out with some sort of update to eliminate it. (perhaps a certain amout of time of invincibility when spawning)

It's a great game, doesn't feel like an expansion pack to me. I'd recommend it to anyone. If you happen to pick it up, make sure to let someone here know. We've been getting some great matches going online since it's release.

An expansion pack? Do you have to load the previous Rainbow 6 before you put the new one in?

Some people refer to the game as an expansion of the last game because the offline play is very similar. You really get your money's worth with the XBL play. It includes some new maps and the two new online modes, as well as survival, team survival, sharpshooter, terrorist hunt, and missions. The XBL play alone makes the game, I haven't played offline since the day I purchased it. The AI is also smarter in the online terrorist hunt and mission modes. They'll use tear gas, flash bangs, rocket launchers, molotov cocktails, you name it. They're also more aggressive and will even run from your gunfire in certain situations.

Its definitely very fun. I would recommend it to anybody who likes first person shooters. And this game has a lot of OSers playing just about every week night.
