If you get it, hit me up and maybe we can get a live game going. Then again, never mind, I don't wanna get shown up :y4:

i've tried it once at an arcade and felt like an idiot...I was no good at all, plus there was a group of asian guys there who were just flat out scary insane at it, getting perfects and crap like that. I'll have to think about it, and if i get it i'll let you know

Quick question, did you just get a 20 buck pad? if I do this I'd hate to have to get an expensive one right now, if the cheaper pad does the job for now...I guess I can see that if you're hyper into this you'd want one just like the arcade, but I can't see that happening to me

if you get the xbox version, you can play vs others online. Never tried this though. I prefer the social aspect of the game confined to real people around you.

if you are not sure whether this is a thing for you or not, perhaps going with the cheap pads is most cost effective at first. I have 2 of the semi foam ones (redoctane 2.0 for the box), and cannot say enough good things about them. they each costs 100 bucks though. I had purchased one and the next day my wife said to get another so we didnt have to take turns on the one mat.

metal ones are expensive, but of course they provide the closest representation to the arcade.

is that it? if so, yikes...i can see how it's better, i'd just have to ponder that...I can afford it, I just hate when I buy a game and then never end up playing it much...wouldn't want to kick out 140 bucks for the game and pad, and then not end up doing much with them...

thanks...i'll probably just go with a cheapo 20 buck one for now...if in the remote chance i get into it more I'd have to spend decent cash on a good one, but I think it'll just be more casual fun. Thanks for the link though, and there's a DDR machine on the U of Michigan's Engineering campus where I'd see some freaky guys just spaz out on it, so doesn't surprise me the link's from there

Mgo, you can go ahead and shell out the $100 for the good dance pad, and if you don't like it you can donate it to "Will's DDR Charity Foundation". It is completely tax deductible, and you can help me get a free pad :y4:

I have the MadCatz pad and so far I like it a whole lot. It does scoot around on the floor, and tends to bunch up during the fast songs, but it seems pretty good so far. Of course if I keep playing like I am playing now, I will end up getting the $100 pad though. I have been researching these things today, and I feel like a big dork looking for the best pad, but somehow, I know I am having a blast with the thing so I really don't care...
