Do you keep your games after you beat them?

...or do you sell them off?

Are games like The Order, which are so cinematic that I would imagine there is zero replay value, expendable in your collections? Do you sell them and put them towards another game you wanted?
Or, do you like a nice collection of all the games you played?

There have been times i've regretted getting rid of a game and there's other times I couldn't wait to get rid of one.

so its not all or nothing with me.

I am curious how you guys handle it.

I never sell or trade in games. I like to have the collection. And now I am going pretty much all digital downloads because I don't care about having any resale value.

I think it stems from my regrets over selling my NES and all the games I had in a garage sale when I was young. Biggest mistake ever.

I always thought it'd be cool to build a game collection, but the opportunity to get some cash back for a game I'm done playing is too great for me to pass up.

Some games I really enjoy (TR, TLOU) I'll probably keep. Sports games always get traded in when I'm done with them.

        In line with my thoughts..

I've got nothing to show for all the money I spent over the years.

I haven't sold or traded a single PS4 game and most of my purchases have been digital. I'm all ready in the 20+ game range.

I'm not repeating mistakes from past generations of consoles.

I keep them if there's stuff to do after the story. Like in Amazing Spider-Man 2, I've beat the story but now I'm trying to level up all the suits.

Yup, trade in. Some games that are legendary like Ron Burgandy stick around though. Skyrim, Fallout(s), Red Dead, GTAV, TLOU, Uncharted series, etc. Pretty much any game that makes me go six to midnight by just looking at the cover I keep around.

Otherwise, adios suckers, give me that ridiculously sad trade in value Gamestop and take my money again.

Re: Do you keep your games after you beat them?

No. My routine is always the same. Purchase the game at Best Buy with GCU. Play and complete the game. Trade it in to Best Buy and use the credit towards the next game im buying. Repeat process.

The only collection of games that I'll ever have will be the PSN/Indie games since they're rarely available on disc and even then, it depends on how much they cost. For example, Shovel Knight will be $30 when it gets released on disc in a few months but if I wait for it go on sale for $10 on PSN, it will be a better move because if anything buying and trading it in will end up costing me more than $10.

For a game like Zombie Army Trilogy which costs $50 on PSN will be available on disc on July 21st for $50 so I'll wait to see what the trade in value is for it and if I end up spending less than $20, I'll buy it on disc. If not, I'll wait it out until it goes on sale for $20 or less.

I stopped collecting games two generations ago and then sold everything. I miss some stuff but with the older stuff requiring an old CRT TV, no point. Also, if I still collected games, my backlog would grow as I would keep buying, never play and finish and would always say, "well, since im keeping them, I'll play them later on".

Also, I only buy digital if it's a PSN/Indie/XBLA game. For me to buy a disc based game digitally, it has to be $20 or less as anything higher is a waste of money in my opinion.

Right now though, I have The Witcher 3 (waiting for the patch), AC Unity (beat it in January but for $16 new at Best Buy with GCU, I can go through the Dead Kings DLC and all the side quests and stuff), Bloodborne (bought it for $32 at Best Buy with GCU) and waiting on Batman: Arkham Knight. Plan on completing Unity 100% by the 23rd so I'll have three huge long games for the summer. Point being, that's as big as my "collection" is going to get. LOL.

Mass Effect is probably the only action game I refused to trade in\sell

Re: Do you keep your games after you beat them?

I trade in games I know I am absolutely done with. Like for instance Destiny, not what I expected, played a lot though, did a few raids, explored what there is to explore, and I will be trading it in so my son can get WWE 2K game.

I don't typically trade games in though, I tend to side with Fresh Tendrils given a similar childhood experience with my Sega Genesis....but Destiny I KNOW I am done with.

If be can get more than a couple bucks for it and I'm done, I trade it. I'll keep games like Mass Effect, Uncharted etc that don't get you any real money and have some replay value. I've kind of got to the point where I don't spend much if any "new" money in games. If you buy them cheap ( best buy preorders as a example) and trade them back to the right place at the right time you can just keep using the trade in credit for the next game.

I keep my games usually. I kinda don't like paying $40-65 for a game to only sell it for like $15-25 in the end. I'm too cheap to do that. I'd trade a game off for another game quick though with somebody else.

Nope. I'm just too cheap. I kept GTA V on the 360 for months after I beat it thinking I would go back and play it again. Never did and finally traded it in. Hard to pass up with the GCU and their bonuses.

I keep most of my non-sports games. For sports titles, I typically keep only my favorite 1-2 games from a sport.

                              I consider myself a collector.

I've traded two games in during my life and already rebought one of them.

I don't trade games in, I don't sell them or give them away. They are one of my nerdy things I keep around to look at.
