    what was the game?

I used to keep everything and sell it all in bulk at the end of a generation.

Now I treat it like it's own economy - which it really is when you think about it.

I trade in mostly games, and am mindful of when to get rid of something before it's too late.

For example I will get rid on NBA 2k15 shortly and it will get OK value, rather than wait for a bunch of 2k16 announcements and videos/previews and watch the price plummet.

Certain games I still have because I like them AND they are worthless.
For example I have all-pro football for 360 and backbreaker and pinball - they wont' fetch me much of anything - they are essentially worthless.

I remember trading in halo 3 or something back in the day and the clerk saying 'are you sure?' lol, ... yes I'm sure I want $38 towards a new game

I understand if you're a collector but for anyone else I think it's just common sense to get rid of games you're finished with.

moving forward, digital downloads make it impossible, and even though I don't want to buy them, when you get a crazy sale - that's how they get me once in a while.

Disks I love trading in, I feel like I'm burning less $ on games and like getting a nice deal.

Common sense to get rid of games? It's common sense to do whatever you want with your own money and not care what others do.

The only way I'm buying digital is if it's the only way a game comes and even then, I'll probably pass. If I cared that much about game prices, I'd upgrade my PC.

And the game was Arkham City.

my only intention was to say if you don't use something any more and can get money for it rather easily to get new stuff - that's good. If you either collect or don't care about the additional clutter - that's great. You mentioned you're a collector.

I think a lot of people keep games because they like the IDEA that they MIGHT play them again and usually don't. Of course there are people that actually do as well, and there's also collectors.

For people like me though - If I'm done with a game, I'm done with it and don't want the box/disc and like how easy it is to put credit towards a new game with a product that I've essentially used up and am finished with.

In my mind nba 2k15 no longer has any value and I no longer want to own it - so it's almost like a nice bonus that it has value in the secondary market and I can get my next game for less.

You obviously care what other people do with their money because you're reading/posting in this thread. It doesn't have to be seen as negative when someone has a different opinion.

Uh, no. I was answering a question the OP asked. You know, the point of online forums.
