I guess I may have to wait like 3 weeks to play the game then so I can see the movie first. I have been kind of working on the first ratchet and clank on ps3 on the ps2 collection thing as I never had a ps2 back in the day.

The movie is based on the game, which is a complete remaster from the original Ratchet and Clank on PS2.

IMO watching the movie would ruin the game, not the other way around... But that's just me being a snob about the actual origins of the franchise.

Play the game. Then, go watch the movie to see how what you accomplished plays out on the big screen.

Do you know if they changed the story at all from the original game?

This is a remake of that first game. If you're going to get this then I would probably just stop your play through of the original on the PS2 collection.

The game's plot is based upon elements from the original Ratchet & Clank game and the upcoming animated feature film, which incorporates elements from later entries in the series. It is said to include a deeper origin story and over an hour of cut-scenes, including footage from the film.

Though the game is a re-imagining of the first game, it will have a variety of gameplay elements from different entries in the series, with features like strafing, weapon and health upgrades, raritanium weapon upgrading and the inclusion of weapons that came after the first game. It also features brand new weapons. For example, the Pixelizer, which, as the name suggests, turns enemies into an 8-bit appearance.

Sounds good. I've played through all the past PS2 and PS3 Ratchet games, so I'm happy for a new one. It's probably been 3 years since I played the first Ratchet, so between that and the new improvements to this one, maybe the game will feel brand new.

I'm at the Drex boss battle and will probably do some Gold bolt and Skill Point cleanup before moving on to Going Commando.

It has been a long time since I've gotten this kind of enjoyment out of a game. I'm scouring each planet for bolts, laughing like kid at the banter and quips between Ratchet and Clank, becoming infuriated at some very specific "course" runs, genuinely happy when I take down Qwark and then immediately saddened when I stumble upon him at a Gadgetron store, and overall just excited to play a game that isn't overly serious and grim. The art-style is bright and fun and really hits the nostalgia factor in the face from the days that platformers ruled the industry.

And from everything I've read the series gets even better and addicting. Fantastic.

I'm trying to decide if I want to wait until the movie or at least finish Commando/Arsenal before hitting the new PS4 game.

Well I mean if you've never played these before they get better and better. Story, humor, guns etc. it's debatable between going commando and up your arsenal as to which one is better really.
