    Is this real?

They give you the tripcaster for a reason, use it.

I would think the casual gamer who wants a taste of an open world RPG would love this game.

I just think you are no good at the game. You have to use your weapons and dodging ability to beat the demon and the striders.

        1. Before they even come setup the electric rope for the striders and aim for the eye and canisters on the demon. Took maybe 5-6 tries but its doable.

I'm playing on Very Hard and I've died twice due to my own negligence. Its been fun circling a herd and picking them off one at a time. Hit them with an arrow to knock their canister off and when they come looking get them with the stealth kill.

Popping watchers in the eye as they come at you is awesome, too.

This game has done a great job of making you feel like you're in this world rather than just playing a game. It punishes you for rushing into areas full of robotics and rewards you mightily for remaining hidden and striking from the shadows.

I die all the time and I don't care one way or another because I save often. This game isn't that hard, come on people.. Anyone that says it is too hard must be a newbie or needs to watch some Youtube videos or something on how to play. It's a fun game IMO

                Horizon: Zero Dawn

There are like 4 different difficulties. I can't possibly imagine it being too hard on the easiest difficulty. Especially if you are attacking with the right weapons. Make sure to analyze your area before making your move.

And if all else fails just spam roll until you are safe.

I am on very hard as well. To echo something from earlier, I do hope for an eventual NG+ kind of deal with like an extreme survivor mode to really push the immersion even further for me after my initial playthrough

This game owns me. 4 hours went by like 30 minutes.

Really in a crafting and wandering mode and leveling up while I am at it.

Yeah I can't think of a game I have played, at least recently, that has made hours feel like minutes quite like this one.

I've only done it two or three times. Hiding in the brush and popping them in the eye is fun, too, but it misses the dramatic flair.

Watcher sees you. Starts running. Its tail moves side to side like an alligator swimming towards prey. You back up just enough to keep separation as you aim your bow. Adrenaline rushes in. Time slows down to a crawl. You can see each blade of grass part for the Watcher - its feet pounding the ground. You hold your breath as you aim the tip of your arrow for the small pupil of its eye. Arm is taunt. Fingers release. Time flies back to speed. The arrow is lost to the electronic glow of Watcher's eye. An electric fizz and a pop sparks from its head. Watcher lunges forward as its legs lose power and flay out in a final action of life. The head hits the ground and its body slides to a stop spitting up dirt. You wipe dirt and sweat from your head with your forearm and bend down to claim your bounty.

Sometimes I worry that stealth kills are too effective. I typically always play stealth style in games that allow it and I love that method of gameplay but I feel like I can clear out whole areas a little too easily, even on very hard. I can't decide if I need to just keep playing and see what else opens up before I decide to limit my stealth kills in some way

I was thinking that last night.

I ran up on some Watchers and alerted one, but was able to duck in the weeds before it could attack. The one leaves the group to come at me. I stealth kill him. By that time the group has started moving in on me and I literally take out 4 or 5 of them one by one from the same patch of weeds.

The first skills I unlocked were the Stealth kill move (which is pretty handy for the Striders, too), the silent overhead drop, and slow time when aiming.
