In the info we've seen so far, no previous levels, all new levels plus the ability to create new ones. Will ship with 100 levels made by Nintendo.

And I bought a Wii U for this game Well MK8, Smash Brothers, and Zelda to name a few as well

So after watching some videos, I do have one area of concern in course design- invisible blocks.

I have seen several videos where people place invisible blocks at obvious jump locations. If these are over used its going to get real old quick. I think its fine to have them for hidden power-ups or as part of puzzle, but just hiding them to prevent a jump doesn't test a players skill at all. Hopefully this won't be a popular trend to make a level "harder"

These were prevalent in The Lost Levels in the All Stars package on snes.

            This is not a test.

I haven't played the lost levels, but I know it was the original SMB2 in Japan. It wasn't released elsewhere (we got SMB2 which was a remake of another platformer). The concern was that it was too hard for western gamers, so I guess that says something. In the lost levels, are they placed so that if you take a routine jump you hit them and die? I just watched a few levels and I see them but none that make you die if you hit them, I see hidden powerups and as puzzles, which is great

I just don't want them all over the place so that if you hit them you fall and die. IMO it is not a fun game mechanic or a test of skill.....time will tell what people make though

I know it happens in at least 2 spots where a routine jump leads to hitting a hidden block and instant death.

So not too frequent in actual mario levels. We shall see!

As far as I can remember it was just limited to the Lost Levels.

We check out every level theme in all 4 game styles. This includes Airships, Ghost Houses, and Castles in SMB, SMB3, SMW, and NSMBU. Oh, and you even get to hear the level editor music for each of them too!
