Should get an hour or so in on PC version tonight hopefully.

Only got about 1/2 hr of playtime so not much to go on. Game looks great so that's a plus.

I'm waiting to give impressions until I play on hard and turn off all aids.

Installing now, beat the Ghost Recon Wildlands beta this morning, going to try and knock this out real quick. I'll post impressions when done.

I'll quickly start out with, I'm not impressed. Its pretty much a Call of Duty clone with an emphasis on long rifles. Yet the funny thing, the combat evolves into assault rifles and pistols more than you would expect.

Is it fun? Yes
Is it memorable? No, it a run of the mill shooter

I went in expecting more along the lines of Sniper Elite bullet cam and little sniper touches like that. This features none of those little touches, so it ended up feeling like I was playing some new mission on COD.

Sniper fans should wait for Sniper Elite 4 in my opinion. There isn't much to explain, picture FARCRY open world + COD gameplay = SGW3.

Is SGW3 better than Homefront: The Revolution overall? If not, what's better? What's worse?

I love Far Cry 3/4/Primal so im hoping that SGW3 is a poor man's FC. Is that a fair assessment or not even close?

The few videos that I have watched definitely gives me what im looking for in a Far Cry type game. It's all going to come down to if the gameplay is good and then, if there's any bugs/glitches.

Wow, I'm glad I browsed the non-sports thread today...

I had no idea about this game, I'm definitely intrigued now... Especially with the Far Cry references, I LOVE the FC series! And after reading the beta impressions about Wildlands, I'm having some doubts if I want Wildlands or not.

Just a few questions.

- How many missions, side missions does this game have? I doubt the 100+ missions like Wildlands, but hopefully a lot of stuff to do.
- Is there outposts, etc to capture?
- How big is the map?
- Would this game be a good alternative to Ghost Recon:Wildlands?
- Do I need to be a sniper as my main objective? Not sure how to word this.

How long will it take to fully complete Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3, on average?
Our goal is it to deliver an immersive experience of being Jon North, highly skilled and well trained Black Ops soldier, that is also a human being which has feelings, doubts and aspirations. In order to deliver this, we created a world that tells a story which puts the player into various military and personal challenges and are looking at an average playtime of 15 hours for the main storyline, and an additional 20 hours for the side missions and quests.

You said that the game has an open world. Does that mean there won’t be any loading screens moving from one side of the map to the other? Also, how big is the world approximately?
Fully open world means that there won’t be loading screens while moving on one map. However, there are loadings when transitioning from one map to another.
In total we are looking at around 27 km² world, full of interesting encounters, challenges and bad guys to defeat.

I'm curious what they mean about transitiong from one map to another.

And how big is a 27 km² map?

I never played Homefront but I can explain a little what I mean when I compared it to Farcry.

Farcry is one big open world and you then "go to a mission icon", this is similar to how SGW3 works it appears. Icons on the map represent missions/sides and you then proceed to one to start said mission. You then load up weapons & gear, head out to complete the mission. So by design it is very similar to Farcry in terms of open world, how missions work, and the map. The next part would be the gameplay and that falls much closer to COD. Gun play which is almost identical aside from a very small "sniper" feel in the sense you can adjust for elevation (distance up - down) & windage(left - right) on shots. Its gamey in how its handled but I guess it serves the purpose of appearing as if you are a sniper.

I wish they would have gone the 3rd person route for this game. It would have been way better then using the standard and boring 1st person view. Every game is doing the first person view and it's becoming so repetitive now.

Would have been awesome seeing my lil sniper in 3rd person with all his gear and ghille suite sneaking around the ground.

Nice. Works for me. Won't decide until late March if im going to pre-order or not as I have to see how my big three (For Honor, Horizon and GRW) play out first.

Just watched a beta video on youtube from someone on neogaf and the cool thing about the 8 minute video was that he was able to hide a dead body instead a metal locker/cabinet. Reminds me of Hitman.

On a side note - the season pass is now fully free and available for Xbox One owners if you pre-order the game. Personally, I think this was nothing more than a publicity stunt by CI Games.

CI Games has delayed Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 from April 4th to April 25th. The short three week delay is so CI Games can implement changes based on fan feedback from the PC beta several weeks ago. Don't know what the changes are but im definitely hoping that the short delay makes the game better.

Just wanted to post a few trailers for this game since it's only ten days away as well as the link to CI Games youtube channel. Also, there's three maps in the game and as you progress through the story, you'll gain access to each map and then be able to travel between them.

Snipers always look through scopes, so a proper sniper game needs that immersion of looking through a scope in first-person view.

You can look through a scope in 3rd person view that goes to 1st person too. Tons of games do this. lol
