Just looked that up to see exactly what it is. I'm truly sorry for what you, your wife and family are going through and truly hope your daughter pulls through and doesn't ever need a heart transplant and can live a long health life.



If it wasn't for your wife telling you to stay home, I would be telling you to quit the freaking game and go be with your wife and daughter.



As for the game, im definitely interested in reading your impressions but watching the first 30 minutes of the game and currently watching the safe house tutorial, im going to be honest, it doesn't look like this game is going to be any better than what Homefront was a year ago.



With that said, I do hope that at the very least, the game can take your mind off of everything else that's going on. Sorry Camp.

Got through the first tutorial but damn is the loading long. Like 1-2 minutes. Hopefully there is a Day 1 patch for this.

Are you running the game off the PS4's base HDD or an SSD? I have a SSD so hopefully the load times won't be a big deal. Let me know how safe house mission goes when driving because that's where the main problems appear to be based on watching the walkthrough. And thanks for the impressions.

Considering the game is not out yet so I'm going to give them a pass but if I have the Day 1 patch already then this is another game that should have stayed in the oven a little longer. A few quirky things here and there. A few times I was completely stuck in bushes/rocks. It took the game at least 3 full minutes to load, double wording/subtitles.

Other than the above mentioned I'm liking this a lot more than SE4.

Considering the game is not out yet so I'm going to give them a pass but if I have the Day 1 patch already then this is another game that should have stayed in the oven a little longer. A few quirky things here and there. A few times I was completely stuck in bushes/rocks. It took the game at least 3 full minutes to load, double wording/subtitles.

I watched the first three missions which were in the PC beta from the ps4 retail version of the walkthrough that I posted above. So much of it simply reminds me of a poor man's Far Cry which again, is perfect for me.

It basically comes down to how the entire game performs and runs.

Has to be the biggest negative for me right now. Way too long to load the game up.

Not a fan of the driving but I hate driving in every game that I play.

Damn....four minutes!!! I think that's worse than Bloodborne. Jeez. Yeah, the driving doesn't seem to be good because the camera inside the car seems to be too low as opposed to too high.

Did you have any pausing while driving at the start of the safe house mission? The pausing occurs when you drive past an enemy outpost. Curious because it was in the videos I watched yesterday and wanted to know if you came across the same thing. Is there an update/patch available for the game or no?

Thanks for the impressions and keep them coming as best as you can. My copy was shipped out yesterday and im hoping to get it Monday but UPS has it listed as Tuesday. If it wasn't for the fact that for whatever reason, my primary store won't carry the game, I would have just gone there Tuesday morning as opposed to waiting until the afternoon.

1. AI fixes- Overall combat behavior
2. AI fixes- Navigating opponents
3. Optimization fixes- Better FPS & less memory used on characters.
4. Corrections to POI- visual correction of question marks
5. Shader fixes (eyes, hairs)
6. Streaming and quality improvements

That's about it for the update that downloaded with my install. Overall it's not a bad game. Don't feel like I have to justify my purchase like with some games in the past I've been guilty about my purchase. Game has been solid up to this point. I can see how it has the Far Cry 4 feel to it.

I don't know about a 5/10 but I'd give it a solid 7.5. Gotta say I'm enjoying the short time I've played. Taking my time during a mission and then having to move to different locations or re-planning to complete the mission has been enjoyable for me. I do agree with most of what the reviewer mentioned other than the poor frame rate which I have yet to experience and the story which has me intrigued.

For me, a 5/10 is literally an average game with a 7/10 being a good game. I'm hoping for the game to give me that Far Cry fill that im looking for and be at least a 7/10.

Your impressions definitely have me more interested and positive going into the game. On the bright side, a good amount of games that critics rate low, I have actually enjoyed a lot and rated higher so I definitely have that going for me in regards to this game.

Sucks that I have to wait until Tuesday night to play the game as I was hoping to get it tomorrow but as long as I enjoy it more than I did last year's Homefront (which honestly, shouldn't take much, lol), then I should be good.
