Biggest Sleeper and Biggest Disappointment of this year??

What are yours? Since we're coming down to the biggest games of the year(GTA, Halo) what do you think so far is your sleeper hit and your biggest disapointment this year.


I'm pretty sure some of you know my disappointment.

Yes, you guessed it.....Fable. Never again will I fall for hype. That game is the pennacle of what you call a "Major Letdown". I still want my 55 dollars and 4 hours back.

Biggest sleeper of this year for me has got to be Dues Ex:IW I've read a ton of mixed reviews on this game, then the price dropped making it seem like a cheap budget title but when I got it, I was amazed and just liek the first one, this is a keeper. Now I got the game 15 dollars(10 dollars as of now) and I would of happily payed 50 for this.

And the bad thing is, these games all got some adverage to good reviews. Only 2 of those games in that list are good. The rest, from what I've heard are trash. I can vouch for The Suffering, Manhunt and FSW being mediocore.

BTW, if you look at the games on this list, if you can remember, all of these games were hyped all to hell. And look how many of these games sucked.

I'm losing alot of faith in most internet reviewers. Like many have said before, it seems when a web site has a "exclusive" review or preview, they try to sell the game whether or not the game sucks. Manhunt, Fable, FSW as well as Sudeki all have rode the hype machine and all have got good scores. Well, why do I see dozens of copies of each game at my respective store. Can we get some honest reviews please. I'm not much of a fan of Gamespot but I can see that they put more honestly into they're reviews than IGN. IGN seems to recieve kickbacks when they score games high. And you can never go wrong with multiple reviews that you can find on gamefaqs. If you weed out the fanboys, you can find some pretty useful info to help you buy games.

I haven't played any of those games, but I was really looking forward to:

ManHunt, Sudeki, and Driv3r. But, everywhere I turn I hear how much those games suck. So, I just lost my interest in them.

My biggest disappointment for a game I actually played is Siren. I read so many good reviews about the game and even better reviews from people that played it and ugh, that game was terrible.

I actually rented it from Blockbuster and took it back two days later, even though I had a week with it. It was awful.

I agree fable was overrated, but I wasn't totally disappointed by it...I think the other games on your list are a lot better representations...

Fable wasn't buggy, or not fun, just short and hyped so much that no one would be happy with what came out

lol, this man will not stop. I don't know if you saw it, but you remind me of the Pac-Man guy. It was some big dude (with many mental issues)on MTV that absolutely loved Pac-man. It was hilarious.

Biggest Sleeper- ESPN NHL 2K5 has been a pleasant surprise. It's a blast to play online, and the ESPN leagues are an added bonus. By far, the best hockey game I've ever played...and for only 20 bucks.

It wasn't a terrible game, but the gameplay was very shallow and somewhat repetitive. It got stale after about 4 hours of play.
