    Hey DX!

Yes. I really do think that movie studios will take full advantage of them. They currently take full advantage of current DVDs that don't hold near as much information as these new Blu-ray's will. Want proof? Very well. Look at the new Star Wars Trilogy on DVD. 20th Century Fox felt the need to include a supplemental disc dedicated solely to the magic behind the Trilogy. Current DVDs provide the consumer with even MORE than what they get in the theater. I have never once watched a movie in the theater, and got to see more scenes and extras than I do on a DVD. The studios now know that the genie is out of the bottle and there is no going back. Heaven help the studio that underestimates their consumers, and releases a blockbuster movie on DVD that does not contain extra scenes, director's cuts, inner-active menus and general supplemental material. Consumers KNOW what DVD is capable of and they will always DEMAND that studios use them to their fullest. Blu-ray will not change this trend, it will just set the bar much, much higher. Just wait until HDTV's start popping up that allow for true 2.35:1 aspect ratios! Think we have WIDESCREEN TVs now? Ha! That's nothing! And guess what disk will be up to the task of holding gig upon gig of info to accommodate such a TV. You guessed it — Blu-ray.

The above three posts have to have the most hellos I've ever seen in this board.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer
