Basically missions that not only add more depth to the story but unlocks weapons and attachments. You get to choose what you want to do. You can do side missions in any order or you can choose to just stick to the main story missions. The side missions are just as long as the story missions too, so they aren't no cake walk.

Re: Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare (2016)
Going to play this game again just for specialist mode. You can only unlock this mode after beating the game. But here is what it does:
Specialist Mode is unlocked after completing the campaign for the first time on any difficulty. Once unlocked, several new modifiers are added to the Hardened difficulty level. Players who complete the campaign on Specialist Mode will then unlock YOLO Mode.
Specialist Mode Modifiers
The most imporant modifier is that the player does not automatically regenerate health. They can only heal themselves by using NanoShot that will heal injuries and restore HP - the shots can be found throughout each mission, either in stashes or dropped by enemies.
Beyond that, location-specific damage effects are also added. For example, if the player is shot in the head when not wearing a helmet, this results in immediate death. If they're shot in the left hand, they're unable to hold onto their weapon's front grip and can no longer aim down their sights.
Below is a full list of damage modifiers:
Helmet:
Will crack when shot and the faceplate will shatter after ~ 4 shots. If the helmet shatters in a vaccum, it must be replaced quickly or the player will suffocate.
Left Arm:
Reloading will be slowed and aim-down-the-sights will be disabled when severely damaged.
Right Arm
Weapon sway is increased, both while hip-firing and while aiming down the sights.
Legs
Damage may bring players to the ground when shot or nearby explosions. When severely damaged, players may be restricted to crouched / prone movement.
Dropped Weapons: In the event of a danger-close explosion or a stray bullet striking the player's weapon or hand, the player may drop their gun. Complete the QTE to grab it out of the air or pick it up off the ground.
And apparently the YOLO mode is as hardcore as it gets. You die, you start over from the beginning of the game. There are no checkpoint saves.Comment

Re: Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare (2016)
Dying and starting over from the beginning of the game doesn't sound like fun to me lol. The rest of that sounds cool, though.
Glad to hear the campaign is good. I'll have to mix it into this crazy rotation soon.Comment

Re: Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare (2016)
So I played the multiplayer...it was horrifying. I died about 467 times in a 10 minute span. This type of multi-player game is not for this old guy. *Runs back to BF1*
The single player campaign is pretty interesting so far though. So I'm happy with the purchase.

I love the multiplayer. It plays just like black ops 3. I'm having fun with the online. Playing hardcore is such a breath of fresh air. So happy my boy told me about hardcore mode. Cuz I was about to give up on cod three cod agoComment

Re: Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare (2016)
I thought the TTK in Titanfall 2 was bad but wholly **** is the TTK low in this game. And the ugly lag comp that has plagued this series appears to persist. Pumping full clips into people and not killing them while getting shot once in the arm and immediately dying is not very fun.
I will give the game some run this weekend in the hopes that things turn around, but my first impression of the MP is it's an horrendous piece of ****.Comment

Re: Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare (2016)
It is awful...but it gets highlighted to an atrocious degree because of the low ttk.
Activision made the conscious decision to noob out call of duty and hopefully with declining sales they'll get back to the basics.
Campaign is fantastic and a welcome back after the worst one in the franchise last year.Comment
