Re: COD 4: Modern Warfare - Remastered

Every once in a while MW and MW2 maps appear in my thoughts...
Today the map Karachi appeared out of nowhere in my head.
I hope they eventually release a MW2 remaster as well

I have the game pre-ordered but I'm leaning towards cancelling it as the price is not worth it to me. Also with BF1 coming out I'll be playing that the most. As much as I would like to try the COD 4 remaster I think I'll wait & hope they release it as a standalone in the future. If not then it's there loss.

There's been some rumblings of a possible MW trilogy remastered bundle.

Maaaaaaaan. Terminal pops in my head so much. That game really made me feel good and hate COD all in a games session. I NEED THAT BACK.

They will never replicate the balance of fun and insanity like they did in MW2.

Best collection of maps in a COD game. God I miss playing that.

Highrise, SKidrow, Scrapyard, Terminal. Aww man the maps. -sigh.

Yep, MW2 is the last great game before the series started to plummet off a cliff for me. There was not a single map I didn't enjoy on that game. No matter what the next map was on multiplayer, I was happy because I genuinely enjoyed all the maps and could play different styles based on which one the session was on.

Since then, I either don't buy COD anymore, or it's for the private matches with friends where we can have whatever rules and load outs we want.

Right now, I'm in the not buying and hoping MW Remastered gets a standalone release in the future camp. I'm 100% on BF1 this year, there is zero interest in COD other than MW Remastered. If they release it as a standalone, I am all over it day one (of a standalone release), but COD Infinity just does absolutely nothing for me at all, even for the remaster, I just don't think I can bring myself to buy Infinity, especially since I'm all in on BF1.

I'm in the same boat. I just can't decide if I want the MW remaster so bad it justifies the purchase right away

Yeah, if there wasn't BF1, I'd be more tempted to get it just for the MW remaster. But between BF1 and a couple other games I'm looking forward to this fall, as with every other October and November for the past however many years, it's already gonna be an expensive couple months for me.

That and Infinity does absolutely nothing for me. At least with some of the past COD games, I could find some enjoyment in the campaigns and in private matches, but the videos and gameplay released so far, I have zero interest in Infinity. Honestly, if someone were to give it to me for free (with MW Remaster not part of the picture, just Infinity), I'd turn right around and give it away to someone else because even free I can't say I'd want to spend any time on it.

But I gotta give them credit, someone had the foresight to require Infinity to be purchased just to get MW Remastered. Otherwise, Infinity sales may have tanked with the pending release of MW Remastered that everyone is clamoring for, further tarnishing the dwindling reputation of the franchise.

For me personally, BO1 was alright and BO2 wasnt bad, but my time actually spent on it definitely went way down compared to past games.

But for me, nothing has topped or lived up to MW and MW2. Especially multiplayer, there was just something about MW2's multiplayer, that whether I went 20-0 or 0-20 K/D in a match, i was still having fun and enjoying myself. The maps were pretty well laid out, they were pretty well balanced and they were fun to play on.

But yes, the series absolutely head dove off a mountain after BO2. The last couple games have easily been among the worst of the series, and Infinity I have no doubt will be THE worst. MW Remastered is the only reason I haven't absolutely 100% said "no" to buying Infinity, but I'm close, like 95% close to saying no and just hoping they come to their senses on a standalone release in the future.

I liked MW2 but it had it's faults, knife monkeys, noob tubers, and camping till you got a nuke (KS stacking) being the main culprits. Absolutely hated the commando, marathon, tac knife loadouts, and noobtube with danger close. But game was fun, favorite maps were Terminal, Quarry, Estate, Scrapyard, Favela, and Derail.

My favorite in the series is still World at War. Loved the maps and the weapons.

All 16 original maps will be in the game. Other 6 will be in a free DLC in December. Such good news.

I loved Showdown and Wet Work; I was so good in free for all on those maps. Showdown was always complete chaos and so fast paced. I haven't played COD since Modern Warfare 2.

Showdown was pure chaos on Domination, the fights over the B flag were epic.
