I just hope the game has better controls than the Amazing Spider-Man games. Just popped in 2 and I failed so many small crimes because of awkward controls.

That being said, I hope Insomniac includes nothing resembling a menace/hero system.

I wonder if there’ll be any Peter Parker elements to the game.
This is something I’ve always wanted to see in a superhero game. Not sure how it could be done though without boring the gamer, or slowing the game down.

Off topic:
I’d love to play a game where you create a generic hero who either works with, or against, known hero’s in select cities.
Using Spiderman as an example, perhaps you start out in a little town and eventually work your way up to Manhattan. Depending on how you perform, Spiderman will either aid you, or interfere.
It would depend on how many civilian lives you risked while preventing a crime. Perhaps you were negligent in even attempting to prevent a crime.
Once your popularity meter went below a certain threshold, the local hero would then step in and battle you, knocking you down to a smaller city to protect. Sort of like a minor-league system in sports.
And if you’re a truly pathetic hero, civilians would yell and scream at you, toss garbage your way, or perhaps even gang up to beat you down.

I haven't played a SpiderMan game since the N64.

I wanted to give the last PS4 game a shot, but the store doesn't have it here and PS Store games are almost always over priced unless it's some sort of sale.\

The trailer for this looked really good.

That was a bad example, ROTR comes out on PS4 at the end of this year lol. Street Fighter would've been better but that's Sony as well.

On topic, I want so much of this. But it looked way too good the same way Watch Dogs did and them not even giving a release window makes me wonder if what we saw was a vertical slice and completely unrepresentative of the final gameplay, which would be infuriating. But if they can pull off what they showed us, and the developers are really as passionate it seems as a lot of fans, this is gonna be a special game for Spidey fans, for us what Arkham is for the Batman fans. That quick seqment of people reacting to him jumping on tables and crashing through the glass was the best 5 seconds of hype footage for a game ive ever seen lol.

Sony owned the license to Spiderman movies. Marvel reached out to to get a deal done to have Spiderman appear in Civil War. A deal was clearly reached, since we are seeing this game more than likely as a result.

Now the game is not based off the movies, it will have it's own story/universe, however it was probably a part of the deal, not to mention easier to make with a worldwide 2:1+ sales leader.

Marvel is opening up the licensing vault for gaming, so I expect this to possibly continue (maybe on other platforms), or at least more 3rd party games.

As for the suit, at first I was like, 'whaaa?", but the more I see it, it is growing on me fast, and I actually like it a lot now. It is different, but stands out and still fits the flow. Not to mention it is Insomniac, you know there will be different skins to apply on the fly, like they do in Ratchet & Clank.

A developer also confirmed that this video was 100% in game running on a PS4, and actual gameplay. Whoah!

I have not been this excited for a Marvel game in a long, long time.

And Street Fighter would not be a better example, Sunset Overdrive, from Insomniac as well, would be.

I got a ps4 and Xbox one so it doesnt matter to me as much however exclusives like this always rub me the wrong way. Even if its crap the gane is going to sell because of Spider-Man in the Avengers and his solo movie. Not allowing all your player base to be able to play it is kind of a dick move.

I love the exclusive.

This is why I switched from MS to Sony because I felt their PS3 exclusives were far superior to the Xbox 360's. Sure, there may be some on the X-One that I want to play and miss out on, but its part of the game.

Another thing I liked about the teaser is it didn't show any villains. There was the big guy that burst through the door, but I imagine that's more of a brute henchman type enemy.
