That was the case on PS1. I can't recall if it was that way for the first PS2 game, but in Spider-Man 1 and Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro, you had to pick up web cartridges.

Dunno why because it even says it in the title but I just realized this game is PS4/Pro only?

How does a brand as huge as Spidey get licensed to only Sony and not multi platform?

Game looks stunning.

In 2014, Marvel Games approached Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) wanting them to publish a Spider-Man game and to treat the game like a first party SIE title.[6] The game will be the first licensed game developed by Insomniac Games after 22 years of developing intellectual properties they have created, such as Spyro, Ratchet & Clank and Resistance. Bryan Intihar, the producer of Sunset Overdrive and former community manager of Insomniac Games, is the creative director of the project. It is Intihar's first time working in that role on a game. The community manager of Insomniac Games confirmed that they are using Sunset Overdrive's modified game engine. The game features the largest production team ever for an Insomniac game.[1]The game was announced during Sony's E3 2016 press conference on June 13, 2016.[7] The game will be the first in a series of games made by Insomniac and Sony and marks the start of Marvel Games' new strategy to work with the "best game companies" who are passionate about their characters.[8]

According to Insomniac's Twitter, there will be other wearable suits in the game. They didn't specify if they'd be DLC, or available during the story or not until after, etc. Just confirmed there will be more than the one suit.

I figured it was because Sony owned the film rights to Spidey and Marvel/Disney just figured they would test the water on a video with on an exclusive license just to see how the numbers go. But I was wrong.

I really hope this is true.
I've played Batman, Mordor and Mad Max and it's easily my favourite combat system in any game.

EDIT: Toronto Sun: PS4's Spider-Man could be best superhero video game since Batman: Arkham series
